On arrival, we were given a room with twin beds. Went down to Reception to request a king sized bed and was offered a queen sized bed available the next day. Took up the offer the next day and the room was very comfortable and large compared to the twin bedded room. Great location - highly recommended place - good value and pleasant people working there. Will be back again next year for sure.

After staying in many Bangkok hotels I was shocked at the relative expense of Hongkong hotels. This hotel was recommended by friends who travel widely and know the best value hotels in many cities.

We only stayed for one night but this hotel really impressed us. The price was very reasonable, the room was clean, the location was very good and close to the main shopping areas, service was excellent. We stayed in a non-smoking room and indeed we did not smell any cigarette odor. When we visit Hong Kong again, we will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Best Affordable Hotel in Kowloon Hong Kong...
Best Affordable Hotel in Kowloon Hong Kong - The Salisbury Kowloon Hotel This was my first time to stay in the Salisbury Kowloon Hotel and the first time to use Asiarooms hotel online booking. We were never disappointed. First the Asiarooms reservation was quick and easy. When I received the confirmation number I called Salisbury Hotel just for verification and it was verified on the date that we have booked. When we arrived at the lobby at about 4am I was greeted by the reservation staff, he checked our documents and in just 5 minutes we were at the 12 floor in our room 9non smoking). When we went inside and the room was new and carpeted. But I must comment that the shower curtain of the hotel was not cleaned very well it smells and the hotel doesn't provide slippers so you need to bring your own flip flops or buy outside. Inside the room there is a complimentary fruit platter, cable tv, an easy to configure safe, small fridge, walk in closet, alarm clock, broadband internet priced at hk$40(4 hours), hk$120hk(24 hours) and hk$310(7 days). It's a bit expensive we could have wanted that the internet be free since you will be only using it just check emails. Nevertheless since we stay 3 days we just got the hk$40 worth. Overall the room is cozy, cool and well maintained. Our room was partial harbor view so it's very nice. By the way their hotel key is a small oval shaped so it's kinda tricky to use but very convenient on the pocket or wallet. Every morning we have a buffet breakfast. It's affordable and the view at their restaurant at the 4th floor is very nice. You need to experience it to judge it. Their food is balanced and there is something for everyone. They have broccoli, noodles, eggs and omelets, bread and pastries, juices, salads, yogurt, cereals, dimsum, coffee and tea they got it covered I think the buffet breakfast is about hk$120 per person. Their staff is exceptional both at the reservation and at the restaurant. The hotel is very clean especially at the lobby. It smells like the placed was sanitized and it smells like new laundry it is squeaky clean. I was impressed. They have a little bookstore at the lobby and there are lots of stores at the vicinity. Everything is very convenient. I already booked my next trip again using Asiarooms and Salisbury as my hotel. I definitely recommend this to budget travelers, couples, family, students, first timers in hong kong and people who always look value for money without sacrificing quality.

The room size is very small but since it is situated in a busy shopping district one would have spent very little time in the room. However the room is clean and the staff, from reception to conceirge, are very helpful and polite. It is suitable for family. there is no bar or anywhere which you can go for a beer within the hotel. the location is fantastic and for that the price paid is justifiable.

If you are visiting Hong Kong for...
If you are visiting Hong Kong for a few days, this is the place to stay. We had a harbour view room which looked over the busy/interesting harbour - 12th floor-stay as high as possible as there is a large entertainment complex in front of the hotel. Complimentary fruit basket upon arrival and tea/coffee each day. They even turned down the bed at night. We paid $244 a night. You can pay less at other hotels, but may wind up looking at a wall as the city is very tight. Hotel internet is very expensive - try the Starbucks with wireless nearby. The famous light show at night (15 minutes) can be viewed from your room or just walk across the street to see it up close and personal (with music). The hotel's restaurants are very good but pricey - go out the back door to find more reasonable places to eat. Interesting very high end shopping in the area - lots of cruise ships stop here. It was misty/rainy when we were there in March and a couple of nights they did not run the light show. We went to Disneyland via the excellent train system - small but fun and there were no crowds because it was overcast. At the airport, use the airport train to get to Kawloon station where a free shuttle bus will drop you beside the hotel. When leaving, take the free shuttle bus back to Kawloon station where you can check in and leave your bags for the flight home - excellent! The shuttle bus runs frequently, but does not stop for more than 30 seconds at each hotel - no waiting for unorganized people - great! There is a large park about 10 blocks behind the hotel. Tons of small shops/restaurants behind the hotel and a *huge* indoor mall near the cruise ship docks with theatres at each end. Hong Kong is worth the visit for a few days, but we most likely will fly through next time - there are so many other interesting/less expensive places to visit in SE Asia.
