Was quite shock when I stepped into the hotel. It look really clean and the lobby smell good. The room was pretty big for hong kong. But the sad part is that there is no free wifi in the room.

Great location, spacious room, good service
Stayed at this hotel some years back when it was still known as YMCA hotel. Have tried a few other hotels in the meantime. But this is still my favourite budget hotel. It's very near to Mongkok shopping area, Right next to Yau ma tei mtr station entrance. The room is definitely more spacious than similarly priced hotels and the staff offer great and friendly service. Most absolutely value for money.

We were lucky to get a room upgrade so we had a very comfortable stay. The room was kept very clean as was the en-suite bathroom. The staff were very polite and helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel itself is very clean and modern, a veritable oasis in the hustle and bustle of Kowloon. The location is perfect, being just off Nathan Road, allowing easy access for buses and the MTR (subway) both of which are less than a minute walk from the hotel. A few minutes walk north takes you to Ladies Market and a few minutes walk south takes you to the Temple street night market. If you are not a fussy eater then the area has ample opportunities to eat well on a budget. Overall one of the best hotel experiences I've had in Asia.

The hotel located really close to the subway station and it is convenient.
I did get a free ungrade to a bigger room in year 2010 when i first stayed in this hotel and we loved the room. Unfortunately, we didnt get the free upgrading this time and i can only say the difference it really huge....

Very Convenient to All Amenities
Cityview is one of the best hotels in Kowloon I ever stayed in. It is near to all great restaurants and is very conveniently located to the MTR station and bus-stops that go to different parts of the island.
The room facilities are great too! I will definitely come back again and recommend my other family members & friends to stay in this hotel in future!

My 3 day stay at Cityview Hotel
I've stayed at Cityview twice before. This was my 3rd time. I was there from November 3 to 5 of 2011 to attend a convention.
Needless to say, the overall value for money in staying at the hotel is declining.
Each night cost me about U$ 170.
This time, I was shocked. My room was at the 13 th floor and its floor area was so small. It was about less than 20 square meters - inclusive of toilet and bath - which had barely enough room for me to change my own mind!
Walls were getting old and shabby. The toilet needs refurbishing.
The television was an old big boxy thing with very poor signal quality from its cable network. The images were all fuzzy.
When I first entered my room - it had NO complimentary drinking water - nor the basic toiletries found in the bathroom. I had to call housekeeping in order to remind them that my paying U$170 called for at least some complimentary items in the room. They shortly brought up the stuff.
One thing I am impressed with is the Concierge service. They were excellent in helping me find my way around the immediate area surrounding the hotel.
I booked the hotel at least 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Plenty of time to prep a room. Don't you think?
So far, I'm sincerely concerned about the decline in the value of staying at this hotel.
They have a great location in Lau Ma Tei. It's a stones throw from Nathan road and the night market and just around the corner is the subway.
Hope they improve on their facilities - or if not - at least lower their price to coincide with their room quality.
Just my sincere thoughts.

Good location and worthy of a 4star hotel rating
Great location, near MTR. Place was quiet too and non-smoking. Do take note if you're travelling as a couple, please put in your request for a King size bed. I assume they did but didnt and was a hassle to change after that so i had to join the 2 single beds together. Otherwise, service was not too bad and everything's great especially since they just had a renovation of the hotel. Previously known as YMCA.

Worth place to stay.
I consider the place a value for your money considering Hongkong as an expensive place to stay. The City View Hotel is worth for your money aside from cleaning the room daily they replenish what is lacking in the room. Even though the bathroom a little bit small it is ok since it is clean except that no bidet in the toilet bowl for washing and I love the room they assign to us cause no smell of smoke. Then the Hotel is just a block away from shopping area (Mongkok). The only thing I might say negative comment about the place were the staff at the reception dont have that welcome smile when you approach them (remember i'm a client) or maybe they are just serious to their jobs. Or maybe it is how Hongkong people look like since Im from place where to give smile is easy to do. But then I can still recommend the place for short stay traveller who were on the budget.
