Please don't take this as a bad...
Please don't take this as a bad review, even when the star rating seems quite low. The service staff are one of the better ones that I have come across in HK. The concierge all speak good English and are very helpful, one of them even remembered that we wanted to get to the "seafood" market and marked out our itinerary for the day to reach our destination. Checking in was a little slow - the room was not ready, and it was not ready until past 4pm. We had small children so this was not ideal. It was raining outside and we were tired. However, we perked up when we saw the pool - it was very very lovely - the water was warm and clean. The showers and facilities in the spa were pretty impressive too. My only problem was the size of the bedroom. It was really small, and much smaller than I had expected from the photo gallery on the Internet. However, I must remember that this is HK, space is limited. Having always stayed at the Shangrila where the rooms are large, I was not quite ready for such a small room particularly with small children. The location of Mong Kok was another issue. It was convenient in that it had everything - from markets, to chain stores to foods to cinemas. But it is one of the most crowded residential areas in HK - and with the rainy weather, the shoving and pushing of crowd when we get out of the hotel was quite harrowing. Again, this is not the fault of the hotel. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. If we can transplant the hotel to say, TST or Wanchai - I would definitely stay there on a business trip or if I were travelling with just my husband.
