Stayed 2 days and nights and found...
Stayed 2 days and nights and found the Langham Place Hotel to be very good on all major points. We booked for the lowest priced room. Having stayed in a couple other H.K. hotels, both budget and expensive, I found our room at Langham Place Hotel to be the best so far. It was much larger than I expected and was very well equipped. The furnishings and decor were modern and elegant. The glass wall separating the bath from the sleeping area in our room was a very interesting idea. A roll-down shade is provided for those who might not be so interested.
The bed was not too hard which is a big deal for me. Beds in China are invariably rock-hard and here I did not need my travelling mattress pad.
The location in busy Mongkok was perfect for our purposes (shopping!) and the MTR is just a stone's throw away. I found the Langham Place Hotel to be a real oasis from the frenzy in the streets. In fact, when crossing from the mall to the hotel lobby via the sky-bridge over Shanghai St., one could feel the din quickly fading away. I could turn and see the crowd from the bridge but could hardly hear it. It was very relaxing experience.
The staff were very courteous (all staff members I encountered smiled and greeted me in english) and the service was excellent. Guests have a pillow menu to chose from and evening turn-down service seems standard. The spa and pool looked wonderful.
We were allowed a very early check-in.
The only nit I have to pick was with the very large flat panel TV in our room . I couldn't hook up our digital camera to it to enjoy our photos. This has been pretty easy in hotels that have regular TV's, but I was stymied by Langham Place's more luxurious technology.
