Rock hard bed and lousy lift frequency
1) Check-in
We took 30 mins to get up to 3rd floor for check in. tried taking the stairs but got lost. Apparently not all stairs leads you to the 3rd floor. We got lost in the maze of stairs and smelly corridoors. We even met a lost caucasian tourist. In the end, we had to go all the waydown to level 1 to take a lift up to the third floor. A chinese man was screaming for others to queue up (later found out that he was one of the receptionist) Only one lift 1.5m x 1.5m (approx) serves the odd levels and another one with the same dimension serves the even number floors. What's even more shocking was that we witnessed garbbage beign transported down the lift. Garbage packed to the top of the lift. No joke! Well, guess that was not surprising given the mazes that we had to walk through to get down the stairs. Don't even know if the Hong Kong Health authority allows that(transportation of that much garbage in a lift). Luckily the garbage wasnt that stinky.
2) Room was ok considering the price we paid. we had 2 rooms. each had one hard bed and a sighlty dofter bed in it. My sister saw a cockroach outside the room. What i didnt like was the sweat stench that greeted us the moment we opened the doors (both rooms).
3) Check-out
We had quite some luggage. the lift only goes down on level 3. With plently of people coming up at all hours, there simply is no way 5 of us can take the lift down. The lift was also used to sent cargo so we simply had to wait very long for a lift (30 min?).
4) Miscellaneous
Saw this guy checking this brazillian girl on the way up. It was pretty clear the girl didnt like it but that did not stop him from hitting on her.
3) Luckily we only had to stay a night there. The only pros is it's locaton. Although the location was good, there are hostels with the same price (USD 20) or if not cheaper ( we stayed in them) that was much, much better. As a budget traveller we arnt complaining, but there are definitely more value for money places around.
