The room is small by many standards...
The room is small by many standards but this is HongKong and the room is only about usd65 so i think it's really reasonable. I've stayed at another hotel, the casa, and the rooms were smaller. Here, at least there is some corridor space in the room where you can stand around. And the beds here are more comfortable. Also, the bathrooms here are a decent size (as compared to the casa, where the bathroom is see-through and is literally just a box for you to bathe)
Other plus points:
- very clean. The hotel is very new (i heard it started operation only last year).
- the water pressure for bathing is good. Compared again to the casa, where there was barely a trickle to wet your body
- service was ok. Staff was friendly enough and patient enough when you ask for directions
Cons:
- location wise, the casa was slightly better because it was located right in the middle of a bustling street , so there was easy access to restaurants and shops and also good bus lines. Here, on tong mi road, it was more hardware shops and shops selling construction material. It wasn't exactly very very near to the metro either. However, it is within walking distance to transportation and you can get to places rather easily. It's good because it takes away the temptation to just have breakfast at the substandard shops near the hotel (like in casa, where we kinda wasted calories on bad food near the hotel). While staying at the lander, we had to work hard to get to good food, but it was worth it. Anyway, there was a cafe de coral and a pretty good roast meat shop near the prince edward metro which is 'walkable' from the hotel, so it wasn't so bleak if you are too hungry to travel
- the neighborhood is a little quiet at night so you may wanna watch out for that
I think it is one of those cute, decent, clean and comfortable low-end hotels that i usually look for when i travel. I had quite a good stay. I would come back again
