Online pics are different from the real thing
Location is great! 1 bus ride from airport & back (Bus A21); it's near MTR, shopping, Maccas, KFC, & food stalls; Mirador Mansion might be hard to find, just ask people around along Nathan Rd; if you’re a girl, you might get scared of scary-looking bystanders hanging out @ the Mirador Mansion entrance hawking tourists selling stuffs, they seemed harmless just ignore them go straight to the lift entrance (there ain’t no lobby), once inside the room, you're perfectly safe! I find their staff very friendly & helpful so I was impressed, although I won’t comment on their toilet/room cleaners. Other guests find them lazy. Their maintenance team was great by the way! They did a good job fixing our ceiling & toilet flush. Overall customer service was gr8, esp the Indonesian girl who was very nice to us. Kudos! Our room was a bit spacious, bed was little hard esp for elders but it’s ok for teens; the main lift stops operating @ 10pm, so better use the other lift which is 24/7; outside our room, there’s a water dispenser but the switch for heating don’t work so we have no hot water, the broom & other housekeeping materials are placed next to the water dispenser which I find very dirty & contaminating (just buy @ 7eleven just to be safe); their WiFi access by the way only works on the 13/F where their front desk/reception is also located, it’s also a great opportunity to interact w/ other guests who are using WiFi too, or meeting check-in & check-out guests & just share each other’s thoughts on the hostel & experiences. Backpackers are used to this or if you're the type who spend most of your time outdoors shopping all day or eating outside, & only go back to the hostel just to rest or sleep, then I highly recommend this place for you. But if you’re on a honeymoon, or a family vacation, I do not recommend this especially if you’re looking for superb hotel views & have an annoying teenage daughter or son who keeps whining & complaining about everything. Now if you’re on a tight budget, a few days stay here would be ok.
