Safe, good location

This is the first time I stay in a HK hostel, it was good experience. Ellen, team are helpful and willing to serve. At this price point, I will rate Safety as first, Location as 2nd.
Though rooms are small at this category, I stay in Single room ... all the utilities work (aircon, heater, TV, fan, light).
Also, Oi Suen more than make up and scored excellently well in these 2 areas (Safety, Location). There are no touts below at the building at both exits. Location is good with many streets (Ladies, Sports good, food, etc) and good food (dim sum) and massage easily accessible.
They also offer discounted tickets to various popular locations and can get from them directly.
With friendly service, I will look forward to staying back again the next time.
A good budget hostel choice.

You get what you pay , i feel that the room is ok considering that of what you pay.but the most important is the location of the place. Very convenience. Food , transport. And many many places to shop. I will be back .

Stop Over

We booked this knowing it would be just basic accommodation on a stop over from Sydney to London. Didn't want to spend to much, just wanted to get off the flight. When we arrived we were a bit shocked when we got out of the lift, 16 stories of landings in a quadrangle with washing every where, however when we got to the open door of the Oi Suen we were pleasantly surprised to see how clean and organised it was. Unfortunately we were not allocated a room in this hotel and were farmed out to a different hotel on a different floor. It was very clean, with a toilet handbasin and shower, but very very small and basic, ok for 1 night but couldn't have stayed any longer. Location is good for the lady market and Nathan Road and only a hk$50 ride from kowloon station. Staff are helpful and friendly and some of them speak very good english. If you book here make sure that you are getting a room in the Oi Suen, and not in one of the other locations. It is more suitable for young travellers on a limited budget.

I do not have much experience with cheap accomodation in Asia. Coming from New Zealand I found the room extremely small with an even smaller batroom facility. (To sit properly on the toilet, you had to leave the door open). We did have a room with a window, very recommendable as without it the rooms are very claustrofobic. The beds were also very hard and there was a lot of loud noise during the night. A hostel like this would not exist in New Zealand, but is probably very acceptable in Hong Kong. i guess you get what you pay for and it was not very expensive.

Thumbs up Oi Suen!

Since the day I made contact with Ellen@Rainbow, the guesthouse owner, I knew this place will accommodate me well while in HK. Indeed. The owner is very friendly despite being the only one who can speak English. Not a biggie tho. Even though the room is small but it's highly recommendable to people who just need bed to bunk in at the end of the day. It has every basic need a traveler requires; clean bed and towel, hot shower, fan, air conditioner unit and TV. However, if you are going to stay with large family with small children, I think it won't be much of a convenience unless you are use to small spaces and children playing around it.
Food wise, there are available every where just below the guesthouse. It's really great that Mongkok MTR Station is just less than 5 minutes walk from this guesthouse as well as markets and malls. And Oi Suen's pictorial map on FB had helped me a lot in finding my ways to the guesthouse. Really!
All in all, I am really happy with this place and highly recommend to travelers with low to medium budget and not bothered staying in small room. Thank You Oi Suen Guesthouse!

Great location, customer service!

Can't expect much of the room quality and size, but for the price I pay (in HK setting), room was acceptable. Customer service was great, friendly and helpful staff. In fact I extended my stay at the hotel from 3 nights to 5 nights, mainly due to the service. Environment looks quite safe too. And very important too, the location is great. Less than 5 min walking distance to MTR station, near to Ladies street, easy to find food around. Would stay again here if I come to HK again!

A good & pleasant guesthouse to stay with...

First of all,we felt appreaciated that we had found such a low cost & good location guesthouse. This guesthouse was nicely located at the heart of Mongkok, with Nathan Rd, Tung Choi street (女人街), Portland street (砵兰街) & many more just around the corner. And most important is that the MTR Mongkok station is just a stone-throw distance (abt 2mins walk). Thus, this is not a 5* star hotel but they provided the guest basic-daily needs. The owner, Ms Rainbow & staffs are friendly & nice. We will be back in Hong Kong in the nearest future & definitely will stay with Oi Suen again. Cheer!!
