Ms Catherine, the receptionist is super helpful and friendly in all ways when a request is given to her. Though, the location of this hotel is pretty far from the MTR, it's let you understand the local daily lifestyle of living in the neighourhood. The bedrooms are really small, you can't place your luggage inside the bedrooms and really meant for single person to sleep. Overall, it is nice, clean, simple layout, provide almost all daily necessity, it has a stove station without a stove for cooking. I will return for future stay when I visit Hong Kong again.

Location
Location of hotel too far from main Hong Kong attractions. If you value a glimpse into the life of a local, stay at this hotel. En route to MTR you will see interesting things about the locals.

Truly guest focused service
Stayed as a result of trying to find a cheaper option than the overpriced TST Hotels especially for a last minute booking. The Hotel location looks a little disappointing on first viewing but turns out to be a fantastic buzzing street market and shopping area with bargains galore at a fraction of the prices of glitzy downtown which is accessible from the MTR station only minutes away. The hotel was unique to me as a worldwide traveller in offering free help yourself beers/wines/spirits at happy hour without charging a Club or Exec surcharge. Jerry the manager is first class, he orders takeaway food to be delivered, lends dvd's and on the occasion of my visit handled a technical fault issue with the fire alarms perfectly by extending the happy hour free drinks to 3am :) Negatives? Not many... the rooms are small (this is Hong Kong) but very nicely decorated and equipped. Breakfast was basic. All in all a good choice I would recommend based on the great service which was more guest house personal than corporate hotel.

Accomodation that feels like 'home'
Ovolo 256 is conveniently located near the residential enclave of Nam Cheong and is a ten-minute walk to and from Sham Shui Po MTR station (exit C2). Within the vicinity you can find Dragon Centre which has many shops selling cute stuff, eateries and restaurants, of special mention will be "Long Ting" for local HK dim sum and 'Wa Tei" for Japanese food. Further down the street will be the computer centre (don't know the exact name) which sells computer stuff, and Cheung Sha Wan for their wholesale market of ladies' clothes. Being a hotel cum serviced apt, Ovolo 256 has a chic, upmarket, clean and homely feel to it - sans the grandeur and opulence typical of other good hotels. The 700 sq ft room that we had was partitioned into 3 separate bedrooms - 2 had queen sized beds and 1 had a single bed. Each room had its own built in wardrobe and reading lamps. There was also a living area with a nice sofa and tv, as well as a kitchenette with sink, microwave oven and utensils, and an 'island' that could serve as the dining area. This can accomodate 4 adults and 1 child. However, this whole unit has a white coloured theme, extra care has to be taken to keep the place clean, especially when an extra 5000HKD deposit is payable on check-in. Breakfast is kept extremely simple, so keep your expectations low - you can make your own toasted bread at the lobby on level one and enjoy a nice cuppa from the expresso machine or have lipton tea, and some fruits if you like. It will be a good idea to have a simple breakfast and then head to the dim sum restaurants for brunch! Minus - no hotel bus from airport, so it might help to travel light. Taxi costs 180 HKD from hotel to airport.
