Beautiful resort.
Very isolated so be prepared to stay within resort.
Only complaint was that werent told about resort tour at check in and couldnt do it until end of second day. Tour helps to orientate yourself and locate what is available.
Disappointed that room upgrade (as part of package) was not available.
Clubroom stay - Nice
I have a pleasant experience at the Ayana, with a nice view, out into the Indian ocean, and with a nice room and bed, and and a big LCD TV is great too. The surrounding of the resort is very nice, with 77 hectares of land size, 77 soccer field size. Too bad, I did not spend enough time to experience the nice facilities of the resort, as I went out for for water sports and sight seeing during my stay.

this was our second time we stayed at this resort. it was just wonderful, the food, ambience, and the service warm and very accomodating
the first room we were given was...
the first room we were given was facing the mini golf and had many problems....and was unattractive as well. the headboard banged against the wall (it was out honeymoon) the toilet SCREAMED when flushed and the ceiling fan was not secure and wobbled when on, as if it we going to fly away. there is no closet space...NO DRAWERS available and no electric outlet in the bathroom, except for a shaver.not for our own blow dryer or hair straightener (my wife) the blow dryer frustrated her emensely bec it is in a drwawer and the cord is 12" long!
after the first night we voiced our complaints and were moved to another room....immediately. the service was wonderful. the second room was a bit bigger and had a beautiful canopy bed, but the bathroom had the same faults.
the service and food and amenities outside of the room were impeccable. i do think the rooms definitely are the downfall of this hotel.
the spa services were wonderful but VERY overpriced. as we had similar services at the four season for HALF the price and same level of excellence.
but, the sunset there cannot be beat.

Fantastic hotel. We absolutely enjoyed our stay there. The deco, landscape and the fascilities are just so beautiful. The staffs are friendly, courteous and really helpful.
if you are looking for a mega...
if you are looking for a mega commercialized resort, then this is the place for you. after staying at this resort, i realize i am more of a small boutique hotel person, rather than massive resorts which you can find anywhere. you wouldn't think you were in bali. it's a perfect resort for a family with kids though. i had a partial ocean view room but i could hear kids walking and talking quite loud. i don't have kids yet, so i prefer more adult oriented quiet setting than kids friendly place. the room was nice but the bathtub wasn't. i wouldn't soak myself in there.
i am told that the ritz is for japanese, koreans and chinese. many australians stay in kuta/legian area. they have wontons, miso soup, kimchee and tempurah in their breakfast buffet.
in overall, it's a nice place to stay but if you are looking for a romantic place setting, i suggest other small boutique hotel.
i know for sure that i won't go back there again.

We were very glad to have been pampered so well after all the craziness of our wedding. The rooms were very nice but rather bland, but the balcony with it's lovely view was much, much appreciated. We booked a club-level room, which was absolutely worthwhile because of the upgrades and special care in service, not to mention the club lounge; you will not go hungry. I woud not stay here again unless we again booked at least club-level. The floors and wings below club level were a definite step below ours.
We were disappointed not to be able to wander conveniently outside the RC compound, but the hotel does provide plenty to see and occupy yourself with for shorter stays, as in our case. We had a lovely time simply wandering around the hotel grounds, visiting different areas and shops and bars and things-- all of which are beautifully done. If you have the money, splurge on a villa; we peeked into a few, and they're stunning.
The pools, restaurants, grounds, and service were high points. We were sad to leave.

we booked Deluxe Ocean View room iun Main building(Club area was not availible for unnown reasons??) which is more than a standard hotel room , not really spectacular. hotel room allocated first was not almost old and "muufff", after strong claim we received nenowated room but still relatively small. Food is ok, but not as expected in ***** Hotel.Facility is really nice and great, poolside on the very small beach is new and very nice too.however there are better hotels in Bali for similar rate.Spa areas meet Bali standars. we do not like to much conference hotels therefor on our next trip we will come back to oiur other prefered hotels.

My wife and I loved the many...
My wife and I loved the many pools scattered throughout the hotel and its wonderful views of the ocean. The huge size of the hotel ensured we took many long walks soaking in the romantic atmosphere.
However, improvements can be made to the cleanliness of our room as well as the service quality.
My wife had trouble falling asleep due to the loud crickets outside our room and calls to the frontdesk for earplugs was hilarious, as the staff greeted us with POWERplugs instead!
Perhaps we were pampered by our stay at the Alila Ubud a few nights ago that we expected more from the Ritz!
