lovely hotel
lovely staff, expensive to eat there, which is a shame as we would have eaten there more as by the time all the taxes etc etc go on i may as well eat in Australia! I find this a lot you need to keep your clients in the hotel, so play some music by the pool, or put a normal pizza at the italian instead of seafood or fetta, but al in all we enjoyed our stay, thanks

Hotel was excellent, however, pool was a bit too deep!
Hotel amenities were great. Friendly staff, and it overlooked the beach. Centralised location.
My only comment is the pool was a little too deep. 1.6-1.8metres throughout the pool, with no shallower ends.

Great Location/Beautiful Resort
We have stayed previously and have always obtained extremely competitive rates; however, this time we were forced to take leave during 'school holidays'; therefore bumping up the prices. Rooms are looking tired - they need rejuvinating/new paintwork/updated bedding/tiling etc (especially the bathrooms). We had major problems with the plumbing, with the sewerage backing up through the hand basin each time we flushed the toilet. As this Hotel were fully booked and unable to re-locate us, they were extremely empathetic and went out of their way to compensate us in other areas. After one whole night and day of 'repairs', they were able to alleviate the problem; however, not entirely fixing it. I believe many Hotels in Bali have this problem. Bali's corrupt government are not willing to spend on infastructure, although they are extremely happy to accept the US$25 incoming tax and RP$150,000 departure tax. God only knows what they spend the money on! Certainly not on sanitation or roads! Anyway, other than this, the Resort is very well kept and the food is of a very high standard. The Buffet breakfast would have to be the biggest and best in Bali, and the theme nights are good value with great food and entertainment to match. In all, a fab holiday.

I wanted time in Bali just hanging...
I wanted time in Bali just hanging out at the hotel (not interested in shopping) and this hotel was perfect for that. Quiet and luxurious yet close to everything. A great suprise was the bday cake delivered to my room on my bday. Some problems: 1. When I first booked online 6 months before arriving they deducted the full amount for 7 days stay from my credit card and after chasing up on this several times I was fianlly refunded after my interest free days. Lucky I keep an eye on my account. 2. At check in(11.20pm and tired) they informed me that I had requested an extra bed which was not the case (I was on my own). They immediately removed it and did not replace the side table until several days later. Then to make things problematic, my checkout took ~45mins because they were charging me for that extra bed and had to find out if I really used one or not. I also requested a bath but didn't get that either.

This hotel has beautiful gardens, a great...
This hotel has beautiful gardens, a great pool, lovely restaurants and bars and is in a really good location. The rooms are a little dated and could use a refurb, but are comfortable and our room had a great view over the garden, pool and ocean. Really happy with the hotel staff, and with everything in general.

Overall our stay was enjoyable and the hotel facilities were good, the only negative with the room was that the fixed hairdryer in the bathroom was not very good. The hotel was situated within easy walking distance to the main Kuta areas and the Discovery Centro Shopping next to the hotel was good for shopping and had great cafes. For anyone thinking of staying at Kartika I would recommend this hotel.

excellent position, can walk to most of the surrounding facilities. Excellent & quick service. Ice delivered to room straight away,great variety for breakfast, Bar service and pool side very good. Reception, can't fault, overall room was terrific, had garden terrace ground floor suited us.Next door to huge shopping mall,great. Over the road a convenience shop for small items. Plenty of eating places around to suit all tastes. Had the use of GYM for showers with clean towels,as we had to book out of room by 2pm, and flight was not until 10.30pm so it was nice to have this facility available.Beach area has been cleaned up, finished the stone wall in front of Kartika Plaza,looks good now. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is still undergoing renovations, meaning...
The hotel is still undergoing renovations, meaning a lot of rooms were not available and there was some construction noise. Whilst we were there, it rain a bit and the ceiling in the restaurant where breakfast was served leaked severely. However, the hotel and its staff were fabulous. Particularly the staff. They were extremely friendly. The hotel management has trained their staff to speak English, and they are currently learning Japanese and Russian (to cover the expanding tourist market from these parts of the world. Overall, it was a beautiful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.
