Location is great if you want to get away from the hassles of Kuta/ Legian. Hotel was great, staff were very friendly. 10min walk to Potato Head, 15min walk to Ku De Ta. Lots of cool beach bars out the front of the hotel. Great value for money.
Grand Balisani is a very traditional Balinese hotel. I liked the hotel interior very much, kept very traditional and homely. Pool area and restaurant are beach facing, nice view.
When we arrived we where welcomed and shown to our room, when i went to the bathroom it stunk like raw sewerage so i checked, they had wrapped a plastic bag around the vent and filled the pipe with paper to try and stop the smell and i made complaint and all they could do was spray air freshener. To top it off that night they spray the whole complex for mosquitoes and filled our room with white smoke that smelt like raw petrol that actually made my daugther and i physically ill , When i asked for another room, all of the rooms they showed us had the same lingering smell when i asked for some sort of compensation for a terrible sleepless night the Hotel manager asked how much beer i drunk (what an Fxxking joke)
Old hotel, Balinese style, warm, happy and comfortable. Quiet, not many shops about and with a well behaved and friendly clientele. Mainly European and Asian. Clean room, lovely view from the Sea view room. Large and comfortable bed. Split A/C. Nice clean swimming pool area. A nice touch is the "pool noddles" available to all. The Asian and Western food buffet breakfast is good. Had a Balinese show with dinner one night. Very good. Complaints: Not enough coats hangers in robe, no clothes airer on the balcony to dry swim suits. No hooks for clothes in the bathroom. Beach could be cleaner. Hotel is away from the main crowd but A$4.50 in a metered Blue Bird taxi will take you to Kuta and A$7 or 8 to the airport. There is also a one way free shuttle as far as Kuta. There are 4 Warungs close by on the beach with good meals at great prices. The first Warung may be noisy on Friday nights with Party pub/ nightclub type of music. It did not disturb us.
These people could not have been nicer and nothing was a hassle, food great room fantastic and clean and service at sunken bar A OK. Overall great family trip with kids 6, 12 and worth the money :)
This is a lovely resort however they need to invest some serious money in renovations. When it rained it leaked badly. It needs a repaint and repair in the rooms. Pain work pealing and faiding. Furniture need updating and sproosing up. I was very dissapointed that they charged for internet connection. I wont be staying there again
Grand Balisani Suites is made to look like an old Balinese house and it looks it but the rooms look a little run down and in my opinion not worth the $150 we paid for it. Maybe because it was high season.
It is nice for a couple's getaway. Lot's of restaurants nearby.
What disappointed my wife and I a little was the service. At 11pm we asked the reception for just one extra complimentary bottle of water and they refused to give it to us saying that each room is only entitled for 2 ( would like to note that even these bottles are smaller than the one offered in other hotels). We have stayed in many many hotels and this is the first time water have been refused to us.
The service at the restaurants were fine.
The spa is the best! I recomend the warm stone massage!Big room, but with an odd smell. The matress and the pillows were very, very confortable. It was the first time a had a wonderful first-night sleep!!! The hotel is huge, but with a lot of stars, so I would not recomend it for seniors. It is also a little bit away from everything, but if you have a car, it is not a problem at all.
Rooms were clean. Balcony was unoperational as it was Jamm. Overall cleanliness and service was excellent. Staff was very cooperative and smiling. Good Experience, will try again.
