Hard to deal with. Communication not great. Requested room close to elevator due to partner having a cast on leg, was told that one was arranged, placed no where near elevator. Unable to process Visa debit cards, requiring everything to be paid up front in cash. 1/10

Loved it!!

I really loved staying at Mercure, infact it is the only place i will stay in Bali again! The staff are lovely, the rooms are very clean there is a very deep bath tub which i loved! They have plasmas in the rooms which has alot of channels to choose from which was good for when we were off to bed or just relaxing watching abit of tv! The Mercure is in the best spot! Right accross from Kuta beach, it has a rooftop (4th floor) pool which overlooks the beach! Its great you can reelax up there sunbaking without being hassled in the beach! Its just luxury! The only thing I wouldnt brag about is the breakfast, although it was good cos they had lots of yummy juices & yogurts and the omellets were great, the bacon & coffee is crap! Thats the only words i can use beacsue it was but i think its like that abywhere in Bali! There is a variety of different foods for breakfast but Im aussie and the closest thing to an aussie breakfast was omelatte on toast! lol I wont eat rice or noodles or chicken/beef etc. for breakfast! They also charge a bit for the internet if you want to use it its about $2 for only 15 minutes! I think thats a bit of a rip off but the main thing is you feel safe using it there incase u want to check internet banking etc. Its so close to everything, 2 minute walk to Kuta Square & all the great restaurants!! All the markets are right there & McDonalds etc. Its a great spot right next to the Hard Rock Hotel! Hope this helps! xo

Terrible

I was very disappointed mecure is very old n dirty checking in n out was late and they didn't seem to have a clue on how to do there job room service didn't even make it into mt mouth I threw it straight in the bin ! My credit card got scammed at the hotel there I keep recording phone calla to my room confirming my name every day we were so despite to get out of thus hotel we checked out early and still had to pay for another day we wernt staying there . I never complain but I will never return back to mecure it's old overpriced and service was bad especially reception

Row of Rooms facing construction site / Billing Issue

The room we stayed in had the balcony facing a construction site. So that was really disappointing. We switched to another room after the 1st night stay, but the room was much smaller than the previous one.
During the check-out the staff insisted that payment has to be done on local currency, although we booked in USD. The hotel exchange rate was not favourable and on top of that we will be losing out on teh excahge rate again when the credit card bill will be in SGD.

Mercure review.

The basic double bed rooms were far to small, i actually had trouble trying to fit my luggage inside the room. Another problem was the amount of mosquitoes inside the room every night. Some positives were the location is great, the pool has spectacular views and the food provided was very good.

The superior room we had was small, dark and dated. Very little space for movement. Towels were brownish and there were also lots of mosquitoes in the room. We had to request housekeeping to come by and spray insecticide every night. Despite that, we still got bitten. Toilet was not cleaned well enough. The only plus point was that the hotel was located on Kuta Beach whereby you could walk across the road to the beach. There were also many food outlets around the hotel.The roof top pool was great as it overlooks the sea. Breakfast was above average, could have served better quality food since it markets itself as 4-star resort. I would think it's about 3-star standard. I think I will try other 4-star hotels around the area next time. The rooms really need a major revamp!

I am coming back

Despite some comments I read about this hotel, I found that everything about it was perfect. I cannot thank the staff enough as they sorted out a problem for me and bent over backwards to make my stay as good as it could be. Its location is perfect. Directly across from Kuta beach so you could surf in front. But you could walk to all areas of Kuta with ease. Rooftop pool was great also.
Good value for money, the rooms were great, maybe a little bit dark, but everything you need is there. I travel all over the world year round and for staying in Kuta its an ideal place to start, especially for the first time in Bali. I booked through Asia rooms as they had a promotion with free internet and free airport transfer etc. Its worth hunting around as not each booking site offers this promotion.

Great setting and ambiance. A great place to stay in if you are sunset lovers.
My stay here wasn't too fantastic though. Mood dampened at the beginning of the stay where I was 'forced' to switch room the 2nd day as my room wasn't really when I was checking in. This had never happened to me before as other hotels would have rearranged another room for me to stay for the entire period without asking me to shift room!!
Nothing special about the food and beverage. Standard hotel quality.
I will be back to this hotel just for it's location and the sunset pool.
