Excellent service, great hotel
Brilliant stay at the Alam Villa. The rooms seems very spacious and very well decorated in the usual balinese theme. Locations is good. Its walking distance to everything. To the market or to shopping centre. The beach is practically in front of the door step. My wife tried the 'Jamu' Spa. She loves it, but quite costly compared to the streets parlour. The breaks is simply superb cause the variations just amaze you. The hotel organised cocktails sessions for the all the guest every friday. Apart from getting to know the management staff or guest alike, they also give away some hotel vouchers or momentos (we got a painting). I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Bali March 2012
We were more than happy with AlumKulkul Boutique Resort, we were booked into an Alam Lanai room, upon arrival we were upgraded to an Alam Villa and it was just beautiful. The staff are so lovely, very helpful and obliging nothing was too much trouble. We were invited to have cocktails with management and staff on the Friday night and that was special. We got to learn the history of AlumKulkul, there was a trivia night about AlumKulkul which was a lot of fun, not only that we got to meet other guests and shared stories. The hotel is just a short walk to Melasti street for us it was just a perfect spot for us. We will be going back for sure, very very happy.

No Value
Stayed in room 2209. Room is dated and smells mouldy. Noisy aircon, slow flowing drains both in shower and sink, stained shower curtain. All hall marks of a hotel that doesn't care and still demands high prices. The hotel's main appearance is pleasant though villas are cramped together. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday avoid this hotel and generally avoid Kuta. Ubud, Sanur or Seminyak would be much better. Asia rooms also needs to be more customer friendly regarding early check out. We moved hotels as we were so disappointed but it was a headache to check out early even with advance notice. All hotel employees are great and we must recommend both Fendi and Yustiari for their professionalism and customer care! You will get better value for money in Sanur and a different experience in Ubud. Stay in Kuta if you love shopping and nightlife action and check out the Hard Rock Hotel further down the road-it seems quite popular.

Alum Kul Kul Quad room

We have previously stayed in many hotels of similar rating (****) in legian/Kuta area. Although this is not necessarily the best, the hotel and room is quite adequate and clean with no real faults. Service is good. The hotel is mainly ground floor and first floor rooms set in a fairly traditional style garden including many fruit trees. Most rooms have verandas or balconies which we didn't. I would recommend this otherwise you are confined to room and there is no outdoors to have drinks or hang washing etc. The 2 pools are relatively small and not that interesting (for older kids). The quad room was quite spacious though and beds, bathroom and aircon were great.A heavy curtain provides separation of kids from adults probably quite suitable for younger families. The restaurant is good quality and food for evening meals (once) but buffet breakfast was very average for $12 per person. There are a lot of restaurants nearby.
The hotel is directly acrross the road from beach. The beachside road is oneway and very congested with traffic.Access to some areas is difficult e.g it took us 1 hour to get to Waterbom by Taxi-could have walked quicker.(Taxis are very cheap although delays are frustrating).
In summary whilst the hotel is quite adequate it lacks any wow-factor or special interest.

Second time not a charm!
We stayed at Alam Kulkul same time last year and enjoyed the experience immensely but this time we were very disappointed with the room we were allocated. It smelt like mould and the air-conditioning was leaking badly. We complained and luckily the Manager remembered us from last year so we were then looked after and upgraded to a much nicer room. After the first night it was a fantastic stay except the floor was always sandy/dirty.

Room was very plain, basic furniture, nothing else, but did have a balcony overlooking the pool area. There was a smell as you walked in the door like something was dead, never found out what it was.Staff were very friendly & helpful. Didn't eat in the restraunt, but the coffee at Papas was very good.

Beautiful Bali
It was my first time in Bali and it was a rather short trip as i wished it was longer =). It was amazing and awesome i truly enjoyed it. I found this from the internet and went through days of crazy research and i initially wanted a Villa but i thought it was stupid as im there for less than 3 days and would hardly be in it. I decided to go with Alamkulkul based on reviews as well but it is a fantastic location. Opposite the kuta beach and you can walk along the lanes and it was quite central. The staff are so friendly and nice and very pleasant and welcoming. The room was nice with the poolview. I had doubts about walking 3 storeys up to my room but well it was worth it i feel fitter lol!! Anyways, they have great security guards especially the night guards. Very attentive of how you go and who you go with. I cant comment much on the food as we hardly ate in this hit n run trip but they also had one of the most wanted things to do the Alamkulkul spa which is quite a top there as their oils are created by them original. My best friend had the traditional massage and i had aromatherapy massage and my aunt had a facial massage. Fabulous after effect feeling. I will definitely go back again. But i did not like the smell of the room but it was clean neat and everything pleasant but it just had this lingering awful smell but was not so strong. We all had a awesome time that is for sure =)
Thank You AsiaRooms & Alamkulkul Boutique Resort
