Great Hotel for couples, service is excellent. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Premier Club Chalet room, which was great. Food prices in hotel a little pricey but there are plenty of good restaurants around, many within walking distance. Smooth checkin - Thanks to Asiarooms.

The hotel facilities, in particular the pool, spa and inclusive buffet breakfast, made this a good value choice and while our standard room was a little dated decorwise, it was a good size and very clean. The hotel was in a good location right on Legian beach and well placed to explore Legian, Kuta and Seminyak, all easily accessible along the shore which is just as well because the traffic and the state of the pavements in the resorts did not make getting around on foot easy. The standard of service in the hotel was fantasic and indeed this was our experience throughout our holiday. We would consider staying in the Padma again although next time would more likely choose one of the Garden rooms as they were closer to the facilities.

The Padma was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was close to everything, it was a great place to stay for every reason. We hope to be back next year if finances allow.

2nd time we stayed at Padma. Key drivers for coming back were two: the location (proximity to beach, close to Kuta/shopping without being in the midst of the worst part of it), and the facilities - especially the Garden Club (pool is nice too). The Garden Club is a great thing, which makes the stay feel more luxurious and special than just the rooms would (rooms OK, but nothing exceptional). We were also happy to see that the breakfast had been improved since last time, and now was quite good! Only real negative was the confusion around our airport-transfers, and after a quite rude behaviour upon arrival, the confusion around our departure was solved in a much better way.

We stayed at the Padma for the third time, and we really like the hotel. It is well situated, close to both the up-market shops of Seminyak and the busy streets of Kuta. We REALLY! recommend to book the Garden Club, because this makes the charme of the hotel, and the service is notably better, close to 5-star standard.

The hotel was far below our expectations,...
The hotel was far below our expectations, which were high due to reading the other comments. The hotel was old, and showing it. Our biggest disappointment was the room and the view. During our stay in end Feb'07, there was a significant amount of construction both at the front of the hotel (road construction), and in the land parcel adjacent to the hotel (semi-cleared land which appears to be for building a new hotel). Looking at, and walking through, construction sites was not what we wanted to see during our dream holiday. If you are going in the near future, recommend request "garden view" to look internally in the hotel grounds, rather than over the fence at construction. The room itself was small, dusty, and the hangars had rust on them. The TV was tiny and the furniture was old. One day after check in though the cleanliness of the room improved significantly. The ocean out in front of the hotel (need to cross a road to get to beach), had big waves where swimming for the general public was prohibitted due to the undertow. Surfers however seemed to be happy with the ocean conditions. Upsides of the hotel were: very friendly staff, hotel grounds were very clean, good breakfast buffet selection and relatively good location: 3km from Kuta night life; close to airport (5-6km) and close to local trinket shopping (just out front of hotel). Several good/inexpensive restaurants to chose from also close to the hotel. Hotel restuarants were expensive compared to those just outside of the hotel. There was also in-hotel tour company that was professional, despite their office not reflecting that perception. It was slightly more expensive than the ones in the street, but we felt it was definately worth the extra money. The tour company can also make 100% tailor-made day tours for you, which is not listed on the tour option menu. The pool area was nice, and good alternative to the ocean. General recommendations: Do not use your credit cards outside of the hotel. whereever possible use cash (USD 100 in local money goes a very long way). Money exchange rates at the hotel were better than at the airport upon arrival. Our trip was overall below our expectations. Although slightly more expensive, we much preferred Phuket Thailand to Bali.

This is no Four Seasons/Intercontinental/Ritz. However, a very nice local 5 star. Great service (housekeeping needs such as slippers, extra pillows, etc came within 5 minutes of request on separate occasions). Very nice breakfast. Kuta is 5-15min walk depending on where you want to be. Beach is not for swimming due to high currents/tides. But the pool is wonderful. We were in a chalet, room was very nice, I consider the bathroom "spa bathroom", only downside, no wifi/net access from chalet. You must go to lobby to buy an access card (rp115,000 for 4 hrs). I know i know, should not really need to get online in bali, couldnt help it. Otherwise very nice resort, highly recommended if you dont mind it being a local 5 star and not ultra lux (4 seasons/ritz). Personally, I would stay in Ubud next time. But this is nice for Legian/Kuta area.

Hotel location is fantastic, 10 minutes from airport, shopping at your dorrstep, beach at the front. If you like to surf, it is best out the front of this hotel. Can rent boards too! I have stayed 10 times, crowd is mixed but comfortable, mix of aussies, germans and Japanese. Staff are very friendly, and breakie is included which is fantastic as can be difficult to find clean food around in the morning. Pool is a good size, they have fun events running all the time, which is great for all ages if you have children or with a group etc I highly recommend this hotel to you if you are single, young, old, a couple or a family. Affordable and quality for money. You can pay twice as much up the road in Semiyak for nothing. I have done both!
