I found this place through some research...
I found this place through some research via internet. The pictures found on the cyber is as great as the real stuff. The staff, hotel room and facilities are simply great. Very luxurious and welcoming feel in the hotel. The breakfast spread is great. The hotel is located right on the beach so accessibility to the beach is easy.
If you are looking for shopping; I would think hotels located along Legian Street would be better.
The restuarant in Padma is definitely very very pricy so try elsewhere. My personally recommendation for seafood is to make your way to Jimbaram Beach (if you travelling by private taxi or negotiating with a taxi for fixed fee...it should be around 100,000 rupiah or less)

My knowledge about this hotel is about15 years since my job in Jakarta to obtain quiet time and VERY good service, but I do nt want promote this one because it is for me MY second home to take good life.myself I recommand this hotel ,at this time they need some help,same for all other BALI people!!!!!Every year now I WILL TRY TO VISIT THIS HOTEL...of course with package,I AM IN RETIREMENT!

It is a nice hotel straight on...
It is a nice hotel straight on the beach, set amids beautifully lanscaped gardens. The service reflects the balinese spiritalways with a smile. Had a late check out no problem. The breakfast was fresh, more than enough, plenty of variety. Out of the main streets and still can walk everywhere. The security guards make you feel safe they were very friendly still they checked every time be on foot or in a car. Recommended.

excellent hotel - fantastic staff. Beautiful garden setting with good facilities. The restaurants in the resort are quite expensive but really good. Would definitely do back to the Padma.

I FOUND THE PADMA BALI HOTEL TO BE LIKE PARADISE.IT'S A BEAUTIFUL RESORT WITH GREAT FACILITIES AND BEAUTIFUL GARDENS.THE ACTIVITIES THAT HAPPEN AROUND THE HOTEL ARE ALSO GREAT.WILL CERTAINLY STAY THERE AGAIN!!!
We stayed at the Hotel Padma in...
We stayed at the Hotel Padma in one of the garden villas in June 2005. The hotel is beautifully landscaped and the service is very good. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to be given a room with two twin beds instead of a king size bed, which we had specifically requested for. So my husband and I found ourselves sleeping in separate beds after flying 3 hours to spend quality time with each other! We did ask for another room but were informed (very politely, it must be said) that there was no other room available. So it wasn't a great start to our Bali holiday. But we moved on to Ubud after two nights and had a fabulous time there. The Kamandalu Resort was fantastic!

The Padma Bali hotel was absolutely lovely as were they staff. From breakfast to lunch at the pool the service was friendly and well priced. The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful. We certainly enjoyed our stay, they location was great and look forward to staying there once again later in the year.
Stayed at the Bali Padma in July...
Stayed at the Bali Padma in July 2004. The hotel is an immaculate place with some of the finest gardens and subtle water features I have seen at an luxury hotel. It's a really beautiful place and the people are warm and friendly. The pool is beautiful, but could do with a few more umbrellas for shade. Still, there's always the massive amount of palms. We stayed in a standard room in the main block which was nice, but could do with a bit of a refurbishment. Everything worked fine and the bed was seriously the biggest I have EVER seen, but it was just a little tired for a 4.5 star place. The breakfast at the Padma was excellent and the other meals were equally as good. Great burgers and cocktails at the swim up bar. There is also a 'sunset bar' which they set up every evening and have a happy hour where cocktails are 2 for 49,000 rupiah. I come from Sydney and felt no stranger there, as there seemed to be a lot of Aussies, but also a considerable amount of German and Japanese tourists as well. Prices for food and drinks were all reasonable, and the location is terrific. You can indeed walk to the heart of Kuta from the hotel, but it's best to walk down the beach on the sand to avoid Jalan Legian or "hassle street".
Overall a great hotel, excellent pool facilities, good restuarants and cheap cocktails every evening. Very close to lots of shops and restaurants. Rooms could do with a bit of a renovation, but are still quite nice.

Stayed at the Hotel Padma in Bali. Very beautiful hotel, with landscaped areas everywhere. We stayed in one of the garden villas (rather than the main block), which had a beautiful bathroom, and little patio where we read books and drank wine in the evenings. Well worth the extra for this. The hotel has excellent buffet breakfasts, and the on-site restaurants were good, and prices seemed reasonable.
We would recommend the hotel - good facilities, great service, immaculately clean, beautiful pool with swim-up bar, great buffet breakfast, lush garden surrounds. Great value.
