An idyllic oasis of calm nestled amongst beautiful landscaped gardens. Individual romantic bungalows provide such a perfect place for couples or honeymooners. Great pools with a waterfall, poolbar and jacuzzi. Can't wait to go back!!
My stay at Villa Lumbung was not...
My stay at Villa Lumbung was not great, on arrival we were given a terrible place and were quickl changed to something better although with noise from building going on we had to change again after seeing 5 of there HUTS we finally agreed on the last one, the air conditio in all the others was either insufficient and or old and noisy, not what we wanted after a 16 hour flight.
The staff were kind and service good although room cleaning was terrible.
faciities are ok, with good size pool and on site massage/spa close, although we never tried it, there was a much better one only 4 mins away by taxi.
I was seriously ill with stomach upset for 4 days and I am not sure if it was to do with the only evening meal I had there or something else, we always ate in some very nice restaurants nearby and our favourite was a japanese one.
Our stay wasnt of the best and we wont be staying there again.
I loved most about the hotel but...
I loved most about the hotel but disliked the shower/tub situation in the bathroom very much. If you prefer taking a shower over tub bath then you may not like this. The only shower is a HAND HELD shower which is mounted on wall betwen knee and waist level. When I complained at front desk about this type of shower the MAN at desk had a nasty attitude and then started quoting RACK RATES or LIST PRICES for a room upgrade when the normal rates at all of these hotels is 1/3 to 1/2 of a RACK RATE so the idea of paying a hundred dollars for an upgrade just to get a normal shower seemed ludicrous. I don't mind a shower inside a tub, just one mounted down at water tap level so you have to sit in the tub if you want to take a shower. For those that really want a tub bath this would not be a problem.
The breakfast was good, since it was low season they custom made an American Breakfast instead of a Buffet as many hotels include. The pool area and multiple level and waterfall is spectacular. There is a jacuzzi but it is cool water (same temp as pool) but in the heat not a problem. I felt the room size in the cheapest bungalow was small but OK. Taxi fare to airport in Blue Bird with meter was 65,000 Rp. Mar, 2008 about $6.50 to $7.00 USD. 70K Rp by fixed price contracted taxi. Most things were nice but I felt the MAN at desk had a somewhat unaccomodating attitude, unpleasant while the girls there were super nice. Anyone starting to quote RACK RATE prices for an upgrade are taking someone for a complete FOOL. I paid $75 USD per night and he wanted to make me pay $150 to get a NORMAL mounted or free standing shower, as I do not prefer baths!

The Villa Lumbung was a great retreat for us. We stayed for 6 nights, and were really delighted by our room and the pool. Being in Seminyak, its kind of out of the way, so if you like to stay somewhere more quiet and more secluded, this place is for you.

I have had a wonderful time at the Vila Lumbung. I will definitely return there (through your services) next time I travel to Bali.

We were used to friendly people in...
We were used to friendly people in Indonesia after 2 weeks, but unfortunately the guy behind the desk (with the coloured hair) hasn't smiled to us once when we stayed for 3 nights. Also the waitress couldn't speak more then 5 words English, so asking some normal questions was impossible. Hotel is nice, only we would prefer a toilet inside, especially with all the mosquitos.
We still like to warn you not to book the superior room, while this one is just the same as the deluxe room, though you have to pay a lot more !!!!!!!

We found the Vila Lumbung to be generally quite good. A few points upon which we felt it could improve:
variation of menu
fresh coat of paint and revamp
giving greater assistance to patrons
friendlier service, although, many of the staff were quite good.
As the hotel is located out to the main tourist hub they should provide a shuttle bus at least twice a day as a service to its patrons. They do have a bus but it takes you a few hundred metres once a day! That is quite disappointing and as a result adds to the cost of the stay.

found the hotel to be extremely comfortable, clean and good sized rooms.Location is a little out of the way but transport cheap to other areas. Hotel service on reception and in the restaurant not up to the standard i expected of Bali, but staff did attend when requested. A notice board explaining how and where to go to shop, ie Kuta, Bintang shopping center etc ,would be an advantage for guests who are first time visitors. Places of interest etc.

Amazing place, Villa Lumbung is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, Compared to the Jalousie Hilton St Lucia and the Ritz carlton jamaica, they have nothing on villa Lumbung.
This hotel is not overpriced as Like the other hotels just mentioned.
It is small and has a warm friendly atmosphere, the staff can not do enough for you.
It doesn't cost the earth to stay there and for the romantics it's paradise.
Would recommend and recommend again.

I would like to thank the Vila Lumbung for making my holiday enjoyable and relaxing. The Vila we had was a ground floor and I would recommend to anyone. I was traveling with 2 children who loved the pool and the swimup bar and I found the full sized kitchen a great bonus. The outdoor bathroom was perfect and very clean as well as making you feel you were really in a different culture. The grounds were well maintained and each Vila was private. The short taxi trip to Seminyak was inexpensive and no trouble while staying at the resort was very peaceful. The staff were helpful and friendly and though we stayed 4 nights I would definately stay again and for longer. Thanks to everyone.
