Hi thankyou for a wonderful time at...
Hi thankyou for a wonderful time at the Aston Bali, once again it was great! this was our 2nd time in 6 months. The only downside to the fantastic royal suite we had was that the airconditioning in the main bedroom was faulty and the curtains were much too light so we were awake by 5.30am, maybe shutters would be more appropriate. Also the smell from behind the Aloha Bar wasn't too pleasant at times when sat round the pool area directly next to the bar/restaurant. Otherwise, we loved the room(s)and really appreciated the upgrade, thank you! The hotel and location speak for themselves, they are definitely worth the trip to Nusa Dua. We highly recommend this hotel and will be revisiting again soon hopefully.

Great everything... what bad can i say about the hotel? Nothing! The beach is 2 steps away from the hotel swimming pool. The staff is very friendly. Different breakfast everyday. Different local food for diners every evening, so you can try dishes safely! Superb!!

I think value for money, this is...
I think value for money, this is a good hotel to stay in. Our room was large but we had some issues with maintenance. The mini bar fridge leaked, the key card electrics were faulty, there was a cracked mirror in the room, we requested a non-smoking room and the bed smelt like smoke. The bathroom water flow was poor and often water remained in the sink. The spa baths were great. The spa was lovely and both spa treatments I had were great. The pool area is the great and nice to be right on the beach. I haven't stayed in this part of Bali before and wouldn't rate this beach as nice as Legian or Nusa Dua as it is very windy in the afternoon which makes it too cold to lie on or swim in the pool. It is really obvious the negative impact that the loss in tourism has made on Bali overall. It is still a fantastic place to visit as the Balinese people are the best. Bali itself seems to be a lot more run down and dirty than I remember and this is usually due to less money in the country. I will still go to Bali but will have to choose somewhere else to stay.

I stayed at Aston at the end...
I stayed at Aston at the end of Jun 06 for 1 week. Overall the stay was good but personally I would not stay at Aston again because I don't like Tanjung Benoa. TB is rather desolated with absolutely no place to walk around. There are a dozen or more restaurants and a few convenient stores on the main road (actually there is only one road) but they only offer very basic stuffs. The beach is no good for swimming (beaches in HK are better only that they are always packed). You have to take taxi wherever you want to go, though you can easily find one on the street. Pros of Aston: rooms are big, esp. bathroom; right on the beach; staff were generally friendly and helpful; facilities are adequate, the jazz band was quite good at the lobby lounge. Cons: location far away from towns (eg Nusa Dua); limited activities provided for guests compared with other resorts; breakfast was so-so and very limited choices; noise from airplanes even until after midnight though it was not too loud. My personal experience at Aston: I was given a room on 2/F with the balcony and windows facing the restaurant (about 30 feet away!) so I had to keep the blinds closed all the time. The room is on the same level as the reception and close to a shortcut to the pool. This means I constantly heard the other guests screaming, running, talking, laughing ... from 6.30am till 2.30am. The housekeeping staff always missed something: either forgot to empty the rubbish bin, or replace the towels, or clean the floor. I paid USD20 more than other guests in my group for a rafting trip through the same tour desk inside Aston (I paid USD65 vs. they paid USD45). Overall: I would recommend Aston to anyone who travels on a tight budget, and anyone who prefers to stay in a quiet area as the base to move around. But make sure you bargain hard with the tour desk staff.

I had an enjoyable time at Aston....
I had an enjoyable time at Aston. Front desk service was friendly and prompt. However they run out of complimentary maps when we asked for one. Breakfast was served from 6.30am. However, the food was cooked but cold when we arrived at 6.40am during one of our mornings there. The Deluxe Ocean View room was clean and comfortable. There are only a few small shops and restaurants around the hotel. Transport to Kuta by meter-taxi is about RP60k and RP85k for the journey back to Aston.

I was quite disappointed to find out this was a 4* hotel with cracks in the walls and relatively new only to find as soon as we got their the aircon didn't work. The gardens looked nice and were well kept. The staff at breakfast especially Putu, a trainee was very good and welcoming.

Everything was wonderful. Beautiful and clean resort...
Everything was wonderful. Beautiful and clean resort but choice of food was abit limited. Buffet dinner provided by the two restaurants was abit stiff in price and was confusing. Communication with the guests regarding the dinner was confusing and not clear. For example, I was interested in the Beach BBQ dinner but because of miscommunication, I ended up in the Balinese buffet with cultural shows. I did not realise the mistake until I pay the bills which was higher than the Beach BBQ. Thank you anyway, for all your good hospitalities
