I have visited Bali around 12 times in the last 7 years and have stayed in many different hotels. The last 4 visits I have stayed at the Aston Bali as I find the service and facilities value for money and would recommend the hotel to any visitor to Bali.I will continue to stay at the Aston Bali Resort & Spa in the future.

This hotel represented tremendous value for money....
This hotel represented tremendous value for money. The location is ideal; right on the beach in the centre of the Nusa Dua beach area. The rooms and bathrooms are huge and nicely appointed. The gardens are suberb and immaculately maintained and the swimming pool area, that runs right down the the beach, is stunning. Breakfast, which forms part of the hotel package, is excellent. Plenty of choice from the buffet and also a cooked to order station. I would not hestitate to return.

Great stay, friendly staff, great large swimming pool and nicely located at the sea. We only did not specifically request for a double bed when booking with asiarooms, so we got a twin bed and changing was not possible anymore, that was a pity. It's a great place to relax, feel at ease and have a great holiday.

I was staying in Aston Bali Resort...
I was staying in Aston Bali Resort for my first trip to Bali in the first week of March. I was rather disappointed before the trip that the hotel, despite being recommended by my friend that it's a good resort, is charging me for hotel transfer to/fro the airport. The damage turns out to be 10USD/trip and i thought it should be a value-added service that hotels do airport transfer for their customers since this is suggested as a min rating of 4star hotel. The welcome drink was "unique" and terrible with both my partner and I The rooms are ordinary and the only spark inside will be the spacious bathroom and it's bathtub. I chose the Ocean-view, which isn't exactly as it described. You can only barely see the ocean from your room, and you have gotta go into the balcony and try all sorts of angle to see the ocean, with its view obstructed severely by the trees. The extra cash spent for the ocean view was totally not worth it. The staff are generally nice, as per all Bali hotel staff, but not really impressive. The worst part is on the spa service. My partner and I have booked a spa package of massage, body scrub and flower bath. On the massage day, it was raining heavily and the weather was really cold. We had our massage in the room where the staff are constantly going in and out of the room, leaving the door open and the chilling wind blowing in. We were like shivering in cold and they don't seem to care. The ultimate thing is that we are having our flower bath in the open outside the room, only guarding by leaking roofs with rain drops dripping on our face! It was the worst experience i ever had and we got out of the bath in less den 5 mins. Imagine getting yourself drenched in the rain and shivering in cold while you are supposed to have paid for a nice and comfortable experience. The hotel, clearly has not thought of this and made its guests suffer in its inadequate facilities. The worst spa I have ever experienced and a complete waste of money to tortue ourselves. It will certainly be the first and last time i'm gonna stay there.

I stayed in Aston from 19 to...
I stayed in Aston from 19 to 21 January 2006 and I must say that the place is good value for money. This is my third time in Bali but first staying in Aston. 1) Room - although a bit old, is clean, well-maintained and large with a great bathtub. 2) Facilities - Nice pool with a artificial sand area and a sunken bar. 3) Beach - beachfront at Tanjung Benoa. Beach is clean and water clear but the sand is not as good as that you can find in Nusa Dua. For those who are looking for some form of snorkelling but does not have time to visit North or East Bali or the Nusas, you can try snorkelling near the buoys. There are general coral fishes and an occasional puffer in the vicinity when I was there. Kids can also do this with minimal risk when the tides are out and water is at waist level. 4) Amenities within surrounding area - there are cafes, restaurants and minimarts within walking distance. Like most TB Hotels, there is a hourly transfer to Nusa Dua. 5) Friendly staffs with a ok but not memorable breakfast spread is ok 6) If you are travelling before 31 Mar 06, try booking at asiarooms. they got the best price for now. Conclusion: In terms of room quality, I think Novotel is better but for US$50 per night, this is for now the best value for money accom I have stayed in TB.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious....
The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. The balcony was a pleasant place to sit in. The staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel's restaurant didn't have much options for vegetarians, and the native restuarant outside the hotel wasn't really great. Breakfast was however excellent. The swimming pool was nice, and the beach was average - there were a few dogs roaming around. The privately owned facilities for water sports were rip-offs; be sure to bargain really well to almost 1/4th the original quoted price. Overall, I would recommend this place if you want to be away from the crowds and relax.

Overall we got quite a comfortable stay....
Overall we got quite a comfortable stay. The only setback we got is when we took the ocean view room. There is not much different in terms of the views and we pay extra for the ocean view room. The location is excellence as once you walk out of the resort there are many shops and restaurant around. The beach is not really that nice but the sunrise there is not bad. The resort also have tours, spa and all the facilities that you will need. Its really worth the value and I will come back again.

I would say that the quality of...
I would say that the quality of room service was average. We were charged for even the ice cubes. Billing was wrong twice by 36000 Rupiah. There was no iron board in the room. Bathroom taps did not have any sign for hot and cold water. Language was a very big problem. No Aircon was where breakfast is served. Shower was leaking and had poor water pressure. There was not even a flower was sent to the room despite hotel management knowing that it was our first marriage anniversary. Few things could have been done by the hotel management to give that personal touch to the guests. Dogs were roaming at the beach all the time. Watering and pruning of plants were done at any time without any prior info to the guest which breaches the privacy of the guests in the rooms. People were very friendly. I must say lovely staff. Very jovial and very cordial too. Thats the asset this hotel has. Thanks
