Grand Mirage does not look for return customers.
We booked the Grand Mirage as it was close to a nearby hotel holding a conference we attended. The deluxe ocean view rooms were tired, the bathrooms run down and were musty. The quality of furnishings and finishings were poor as were quality of linen and towels. It was definitely not a four star hotel. The rooms were no better then a budget hotel. Despite being a peak period, the management was carrying out renovations, including next to a pool before 9am on a Saturday morning. The quality of staff service was poor, and the food was terrible. The guest to staff ratio was poor. The worst experience was the morning buffet breakfast which was so busy we decided to boycott it entirely. This may be an option for large groups or large families but be prepared for a little bit of chaos. The standard was lower then nearby hotels at the same price/ and atleast there food is edible.

What a Cheek!
Whilst the hotel itself was quite a decent place to stay with a nice pool and fun water activities, I found that the hotel reception, unhelpful and very money hungry. Our accommodation was paid in advance in full. Two days before I checked out, I received a bill sent to my room for $400 (room service and coctails) asking me to pay it immediately. Wasn't this supposed to be done at checkout? Food and drink at this hotel were also more expensive that other hotels too.

Currency and food
Its a shame that you go to a foreign country and use a currency from a totally different country. This made us not eat in the hotel much as we couldnt afford it. Food across the road was much nicer and cheaper. Less than half the price. We would recommend this hotel to otehers but will probably try the Conrad next year as I hear there resort is lovely and they charge Rupies

Grand Mirage in Bali
Ww stayed for 3 nights in October, were given a free upgrade to a suite and were very happy with the rooms.
Everything was very well done, clean place, good staff, excellent bars and food.
Very expensive for eating in, much cheaper across the road at local restaurants.
Beach was dirty and polluted with rubbish, but the pool was very nice.
Stray dogs running around the hotel grounds pooping and peeing at will.
Sellers on the beach were not annoying.
Overall, a very nice place, and we would probably stay again.

This was a wonderful resort. The suite...
This was a wonderful resort. The suite was very large, the bed was huge. I have never seen a hotel bathroom quite so big. The staff were friendly and efficient. We had a suite overlooking the pool and the ocean. The restaurants were maybe a little over priced for Bali. Overall it was a lovely holiday and we would definitley stay at the Grand Mirage again.

A fantastic week at this hotel. ...
A fantastic week at this hotel. A whole host of activities throughout the stay ranging from yoga, water volley ball, beach volley, water sports table tennis etc. Each day the hotel had a new theme for dinner which was very nice. A peaceful and pleasant members of the hotel. We had a ground floor room which was perfect as we just stepped out onto the lawn then the beach. I always dreamt of sitting on the beach early in the morning and late at night, this was just that!! we even made sandcastles at 1 o'clock in the morning!!!Fantastic!!

We stayed in Grand Mirage for 2...
We stayed in Grand Mirage for 2 weeks with 2 kids. For the kids a perfect hotel with nice pool and OK beach. Next to this are the buffet diners plus shows that are wonderful for them. Good breakfast buffet. For us as adults, diners were OK and not expensive. Staff is friendly and helpful and do there absolute best but sometimes miss the details. Front desk, not always understood what they were doing. Internet rates are incredible expensive for unknown reasons. Overall a good stay and worth the money but certainly not a top resort although it has the potential.
