The Nikko Bali is a lovely hotel, the service was excellent and the rooms were large and very clean, the pools and beach are very nice. But unfortunately the hotel is a long way out and stands alone, I also feel that it is due a bit of face lift as it is beginning to look a little tired,, also the food was very overpriced. My husband and I stayed there for 10 days, we did have a nice time, but I have stayed at better hotels in Bali, that even boast a lower star rating.

the hotel was fine until check out we had paid for a late check out but they made us check out at midday which left us with 8 hours to sit around the lobby. we will not stay at this hotel again. poor managment and customer focus.

We had an excellent stay at the Nikko. Although I wasn't able to secure the originally advertised price on AsiaRooms, we stayed there anyway and loved it. The setting is excellent.
We were in an Ocean View room. We could see the ocean but there was considerable lawn between us and the ocean. I would upgrade to pool front next time for the even better view. The room was nice, although was showing a bit of age with scuffed floors and a cracked sink counter. Otherwise, a great room and the bathroom was huge.
The food at the restaurants was excellent, although certainly a bit pricey for Bali. I didn't mind paying the extra as long as the food was good. The service from the staff was superb. The breakfast was a little disappointing--I have seen better buffets at other hotels in Bali. Still, they did cater to all nationalities, so that would cut down on the selection for me.
The hotel is very isolated and it is not possible to walk to "civilization". There are metered taxis available at the hotel, however, with a very cheap rate of Rp 5000 to start then Rp 4000 per kilometer, so it is not that hard to get away from the hotel. The trick is to know where to go.
Our kids loved the kids club, which was a surprise as they are normally shy about such things. The spa was excellent although very pricey--maybe better to take a taxi to another local spa.
The hotel grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The beach is nice but the waves are hazardous for young children and there is quite a current. There was some garbage in the sea but not as much as I had seen in Sanur. There is a beach as part of one of the swimming pools so that kept our kids very happy. The waterslide was also a hit with the kids.
Overall, an excellent stay and I would definitely consider going back.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was great. Enjoyed my stay there tremendously. Well, one recommendation - go for the ocean view deluxe room if your budget allows - it is simply great.

A great time to visit Bali now...
A great time to visit Bali now cause of the big discount now on hotel rates. Got room upgrade from Garden View to Pool View. There are a number of different pools in the resort and the 30m slide was fun for the whole family!
Though Kuta town is rather far from the hotel (Taxi cost about RP800,000) but a good way will be to take the free hourly shuttle bus to DFS (Duty Free Shop) and from there get a taxi to Kuta Square for around RP13,000 which will save you a lot on transportation (DFS provides shuttle back to hotel too)! Overall, Nikko is a great place to stay for vacation!

Nikko is nicely tucked away from the crowded popular tourist locations in Nusa Dua. The hotel is very much self-contained but my latest trip during the low season (Feb 06) makes me feel trapped at the hotel as there isn't much activities & options. I would only recommend this hotel during the high season where choices are supposedly more and fully operational. This single but important reason would make your stay there more enjoyable and feel it is money well-spent. I say money well-spent becoz prices in Nikko are considered dear to most travellers. Remember, visit Nikko during its peak to enjoy their fullest potential!!

Very nice hotel, beautiful beach, but a little too far from the action of Kuta/Seminyak (althought some people may prefer this).
Hotel had an outside organization arranging water sport activities... terrbile experience with this organization. The Hotel eventaully did step up and assist in handling the problem.
