The Bali Beach Hotel is comfortable but very noisy, especially during the night when the guests are trying to sleep. it is geared for large conferences. The view was superb abd the beach very good but too many nights were interrupted by concerts with loud music and workmen erecting and taking down steel pole shelters for conference guests in the grounds.
Nice Place
This would once have been a great resort, un-fortunately really showing it's age now. We had a good stay here in the tower wing, I would suggest either the garden wing or cottages to be better and look to be alot newer. Good value for money, and has its own beach which is a bonus.
Plus points - Good surrounding with lots...
Plus points - Good surrounding with lots of greenery, nice pools, clean beach and beautiful seaview. Can watch sunrise at the beach and from the hotel room. Tioletries are replenished daily.
Shortcomings - Old hotel and rooms' upgrading are long overdued. Room that I stayed needed renovation - furniture are old, bathroom fittings, bathtub, vanity top are old with certain area rusty. Uncomfortable beds - mattress are sagging and comforter are uncomfortable, probably due to overuse and should be replaced. The basic requirement of an hotel is a comfortable bed that can provide a good night sleep, but we hardly get a good night sleep. We stay for 4 nights, but on the 3rd night there are brownish water dripping from the top of the coffee making area and when we try to call the front desk, the phone line is not working. The consolation is that we were offered a change of room when we go down to the front desk to feedback our problem. Despite the setbacks, the hotel staff try to be as helpful as possible.

I would not recommend this hotel. First, they lost my reservation, then they had no rooms I had requested available initially, and they made me wait 2 hours for a cottage. When we got to the cottage, the key didn't work and the location was terrible. We asked specially for a beachside view. This was nowhere near the beach. My husband finally complained to the manager and suddenly our initial room was made available. The room itself was old where the buttons on everything were worn out, stains on the carpet, loud a/c machine, and I could go on and on about this terrible place. There are much better places in Sanur within this price range. Don't stay here.

Would stay at the Bali Beach again.(and again) Had a fantastic stay. The staff are absolutely wonderful, friendly and professional. The breakfasts are fantastic, and to suit all tastes.The rooms are cleaned daily and very well. We did stay in a deluxe room,about 10 bucks extra a night. I think the difference is that you get a sea view, which is well worth it.The rooms are not state of the art, but excellent value. I expected from other reviews they would be run down badly, but was pleasantly surprised.We did have a smell of damp when we first walked in (this is the tropics) which was gone within a couple of hours.The swimming pools are excellent, about five of them. The place is huge,and faces onto the beach for around 500 m. Resturants and markets are located within walking distance around the hotel. Within 10 minutes walk of the hotel you will have a choice of around 20 resturants and 3 good markets. The beach is very very nice, white sand and all the facilities of beach hire and massage are available as soon as you step onto the beach.Fantasic little 9 hole golf course (costs around $100 US for 18 holes with caddy and club hire) night driving range is good about $5 for a bucket of balls) good way to sweat out the Bin Tang.Transport is in abundance, Sunur is well located for day trips as well, we did the usual Abud 40min, Kuta 25min,PadangPadang Beach 35min, Tanalot 50min via Denpasar, Denpasar only 10 min. All in all a great stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.

over all the hotel is tired and showing all of its age.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grand Bali Beach. It is a very large hotel with a tower block, 2 storey Garden Rooms & cottages.
We stayed in a ground floor garden room. It was large, clean & well decorated. Built around 40 years ago, the room was a little dated in such as bathroom fittings and could do with an upgrade.
The grounds are extensive, a large garden, 3 pools and right on the beach.
The buffet breakfast in the Tower was a little crowded, but they then opened an alternative in the cottage area which was good. Warm breakfast food was mainy Asian, but you get eggs cooked fresh & can order bacon. There was usually potatoes or sausages on the buffet.
A short walk will take you to many restaurants on the beach front.
Night life is pretty laid back, but you can get some sort of live music every night. The Arena Pub (next to MacDonalds) & Jazz Cafe (next to KFC) both had bands on and a walk or taxi down the main street will take you to lots of restaurants & bars, some with music or sports. By 1 o'clock most places are closed.
All in all a great place for a relaxing laid back holiday - if you want excitment stay in Kuta!!
Great service, Good location if you like...
Great service, Good location if you like Sanur, with great gardens. We stayed in garden wing--weary rooms, need work. But overall not bad for the price and we'd consider staying htere again. Was fully booked most of our stay - predominately tourist from java and other asian countries - lots of tour groups. Would probably stay there again, maybe try Tower room next time as those rooms are newer.

The Tower Room was in need of TLC with years of wear'n'tear evident, particularly in the bathroom.
A major overhaul of the rooms needs to be undertaken in the very near future to guarantee the future of the hotel.
The hotel staff were all very helpful and attentive, and the buffet breakfast was well catered.
The proximity to Sanur Beach, markets and shops was a major bonus for the hotel.
