Not a non smoking room
We stayed at the Mercure Sanur for two night as we had two separate bookings 21/5/12 and 22/5/12. We booked the rooms late in 2011 and requested a non smoking room with a double bed.
When we arrived we were exhausted after travelling from Adelaide to Perth and then Perth to Bali on the 0450 flight.
the receptionist gave us a ground floor double room and as we were so tired we accepted and went into the room.
However, the longer we were in the room the more the smell of stale cigarette smoke permeated our senses. - - Eventually we asked that something be done about it and that the bedside lamps be repaired during the second day while we were out.
We returned to the Mercure late in the afternoon to find that nothing had been done. I returned to reception and was serviced by the same receptionist who I believe had forgotten about the complaint until I returned.
At this stage he offered us a change of room. As we were leaving early the next morning we declined this offer and advised him that we were not happy. He offered to get his manager for us to talk to and we accepted. when we told her of the problem she attempted rectify the issues - - however there is little they can do to get the stale smoke out of the room. they did send workmen to repair the bed side lights.
The setting is terrific and the rooms could be rated very high but the staff need to at least attempt to give you what you have requested - - not just fit you in anywhere.

Lovely hotel but a bit far from centre of Sanur
We enjoyed our stay at Mercure Resort but would have preferred a stay with breakfast included. The facilities of the hotel and cleanliness of the room were very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.The hotel was a bit far from the centre of Sanur but the shuttle bus helped to overcome that aspect most of the time.
Great Location
The grounds of this motel were excellent, but our room was quite the walk from the lobby. However it was lovely and very close to the beach and the board walk in Sanur

Great place to stay
We first stayed at the hotel 2010 then booked for the same place in 2011. Unfortunately we had to cancel our booking due to personal reasons so the reasons for writing this message is that this booking was a promo deal with no changes, non transferable, no nothing deal.
With this in mind I made a request to both Mercure, Sanur and Asiarooms via email and telephone call to asiarooms.
Although I was told I could not move the dates initially I relied on the Mercure Name to come through with a positive outcome after my second email and I was very pleased with the professional courtesy and was able to shift dates.

Mercure Sanur
Our first room on the 3rd floor was not great...for 4 stars ...the aircon did not work and we had a very old mattress. We complained and were moved to another room near the pool....what a difference, it made our holiday! The hotel is kid friendly with 2 pools 1 for kids and 1 for adults..the beach is not bad. The breakfast was great but we dined out at night. Drinks are very expensive!!
We had previously stayed at this hotel on 3 separate occasions but this time we were very disappointed with a range of items and checked out after two nights, will not consider going here again.
