1. We sent email to arrange for transportation from the airport to the hotel. Replies were received only after a few days and instead of arranging the transportation, we were told that we did not have any room reservations when we have already made payments and received confirmations on the room reservations via Asiaroom. We explained through emails and another couple of days later, we received an email from the hotel telling us that transportation will be arranged. When we touched down and to our dismayal, no one from the hotel was there at the airport to pick us up and we had to make our own arrangement at the airport to get to the hotel which is relatively much cheaper as compared to the hotel transportation rates quoted and not arranged.
2. On one of the days of the stay, we were awaken at about 8am by the door bell. The hotel staff told us that he needs to check the mini bar consumption. I was thinking how considerate the hotel has been for arranfing the verification of the mini bars consumption at 8am and waking us up. Observing finally that we were still sleeping, the hotel staff says that he will be back later to verify himself; isn't that the de facto ? When we came back to the room after our day tour, we were amazed that we will be charged as there were 2 ticks on the mineral waters consumption and 1 tick on beer consumption. We were astonished as the mineral waters were tagged as complimentary and we did not consumed any beer. We did not dispute as we were not charged on these beverages when we checked out.
3. After checking out, we went to one of the Italian restaraunt by the beach for some pizza before transferring to another hotel. We were told to pay $200,000 rupiah when we only consumed $120,000 rupiah worth of orders. When we disputed and asked for a receipt, we were told to go to the cash payment counter where they quickly returned us the change and say that they have forgotten to minus off the dessert which we have cancelled. I guess the benefits of the doubt should trigger really well in this instance.
4. We asked the Taxi Counter next to the hotel reception in the lobby to arrange for transport to our next hotel, Aston Legends Villa as we are not very familiar with the address listed. We were immediately told that it will cost us about $35,000 rupiah. We agreed and the private van took us to Aston Legends Villa in about 5 mins. We later realised that the Aston Legends Villa is located next to Sanur Beach Hotel. We were wondering why the hotel staff at the Taxi Counter did not tell us that we could take a short walk to reach Aston Legends Villa ?
5. Apart from the 4 incidents that have been described above, I feel that the hotel staffs are very friendly, the swimming pool, facilities, restaurants, facilities and connnecting beach are superb for short relaxation. The Sanur area is relatively tranquils as compared to the Kuta area where there are abundances of shops and not to mention the Discovery Shopping Mall at the Kuta area. For those that love tranquility, Sanur might be the area just for you.
