Disappointing
Room and furniture are old. Waited 1hr for room service. Finally received cold food after reminding room service. Housekeeping was terrible. My boy was sick and wet the bed. A new bedsheet was laid over the wet bed protector. We only realised at midnight and had to suffer with a wet bed for the night. Glasses & cups not washed. Tap at the sink was noisy but I guess the jacuzzi tub made up for it.

The positives: I had a Junior suite...
The positives: I had a Junior suite which was very big. The view was magnificent out on to the rice fields, river and forest. Nice pools and friendly staff. The negatives: Probably the room was too big with poor room arrangement and only really of use to a family rather than a couple. Room had a musty smell about it. Damp evident in walls and aircon made the smell worse. Towels were old and one had a hole the size of a 50 cent piece in it. The minibar and corresponding list did not match and there were no snacks evident which were also listed. No hand soap was provided in the toilet or bathroom. The bathroom had no shower curtain so water went everywhere, meaning the fittings were mouldy, and one of the jacuzzi blowers was broken. The towel rail was broken in the bathroom. Overall the room was crappy and the facilities poor. I pointed out the issues to two different staff on each of the first two days I was there who were kind enough to come down to the room. The towel was replaced, but no soap til the third day and the minibar was not replenished at all. The manager told me at checkout that they were aware of defects in some rooms... great, so they should sort them out before putting people in the room. Fair amount of steps to deal with which were slippery in wet weather. Not good for the elderly in particular. The spa was comparatively expensive and charged in US dollars - try in ubud near the monkey park for cheaper deals in rupiah. It's also much cheaper to use taxi's off the street for transport to the airport than the hotel service which is offered at 25 US dollars. Overall, not a satisfactory stay. One caution on payment. Although the rate is given in dollars for AsiaRooms, the hotel will convert to rupiah at whatever rate they decide for the month which was at least 600 rupiah per US dollar higher than I saw at a money changer. If you pay in cash then the rate is 200 rupiah better per dollar than the credit card rate. Nobody told me this until I queried the rate the hotel set. The difference is minor but it's the deceit that irked me, as this information is not provided. It's a minor con.

The room is lovely and very big,...
The room is lovely and very big, the view from the room (deluxe suite) was spectacular. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food that we had was tasty, but it would be good if there was a better selection of balinese food from the restaurant and if there was something to drink other than rather expensive Bintang - not a single wine or liquor or cocktail despite having a bar in both restaurants. The pools were very clean and great for a refreshing swim. It would have been nice if the staff had advised that the spa was not available (it is being rebuilt) before we got there rather than offering us afternoon tea vouchers at check in to compensate for not massages or beauty treatments. Also, despite what is advertised on the web they do not have a dvd player or hairdryer, our room did have a safe but it had no instructions and was not installed so it could be easily picked up and taken away. The big let down was the bathroom, although it is spacious and has the structure to be beautiful it does not seem to be being maintained properly, the glass shower screen was coming away from the wall and may fall off if tugged on (major safety problem as the floors are quite slippery when wet), the spa did not work. When the button to turn it on was pressed a few bubbles and an ooze of slime came fromt the jet. The shower heads and bath spout were caked in calcium build up so looked as if they had never been cleaned and one of the shower heads was so caked up that it did not work properly. There was a two foot square patch of rather dark thick mould in the shower which was not cleaned off in the three days we were there. I think there was a mould problem in the toilet room drain as it became overwhelmingly stinky within 24 hours of our arival to the point where you could not close the door to use the toilet! All in all I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone as it is but if they could attend to the maintenance and cleaning better and offer a better selection of food and drink it would be a fantastic place to stay. Whovever owns this hotel should do some random room inspections and see how they are looking after their investment.

Beautiful rooms, splendid views and a wonderful spa. Too bad their restaurant food wasn't that good. And their lounge was empty the whole time I was there. Guess its due to the fact that their were only 9 rooms in the whole hotel. So book early to avoid disappointment and ask for the lower floor rooms as they have a seperate open air shower. Better still, top up a few dollars more to their full suite. You will not regret doing that. One more thing, when swimming in their infinity pool beside the spa, be careful because I picked up 5 rusty nails from the bottom of the pool.

We got a Deluxe Suite which means...
We got a Deluxe Suite which means a large room with a big balcony. The room is nice and big and so is the bathroom / jacuzzi. The jacuzzi works fine although it's a bit small. The view from the balcony is excellent - facing the slope of the opposite hill with a river running through where people do white water rafting. The facilities of the hotel is however very disappointing. There are 2 pools and both are poorly maintained and dirty. The walls in the garden is in a poor and run down condition. We have a power cut at night and everywhere is dark. The staff didn't come over to check on us or offer us candles but we have to ask for it at the reception. The next morning, breakfast took forever to serve although we are the only guest staying there and had ordered our breakfast the day before. All in all, I won't come back to this hotel unless they managed to put their act together.

A lovely hotel. View mesmerising, Staff helpful, obliging( allowed showering after late check out at 4pm). wish I had gather a larger company to stay coz it's much too quiet, secluded after dark. Bathroom n bedroom hugh n inviting. In balcony, enjoyed view of naked kiddies frolicking in the river as well as rafters manovering among the rock. Wunnerful sight. Oh yes paddie field by the river in the valley. Breakfast tad boring egg, toast, fruits, beverage. However they do make an effort to call us each night on how we wud like the egg to be cook. Kinda humorous. Sadly under patronised which explained some negative comment in other forum. One point I note staff made concerted effort to please as room was decorated with pretty flowers during room service, thru out our stay. Almost 10 min drive to Ubud market but we walked 1 trip abt 45 min lesiurely . Transport plenty 20000Rupiah 1 way. We certainly enjoy our stay albeit too short.

I took the other traveler's advice and paid a bit more to upgrade to the deluxe room, and the jacuzzi is working! The valley view from the jacuzzi is great, and not to mention the room is covered with long glass windows. The location is far from the town and hotel do not provide transport. As we are the only guests during the stay, breakfast was served to the room. It is simple but not sufficient. I requested for 2 glasses of ice water to come with breakfast but instead they brought in 2 bottles of chargeable mineral water. There is a pool but not maintained, so you definitely won't be tempted to have a dip. The TV's reception is very bad and when I complain to the reception, they just said I may need to shift the TV to try for best reception. But overall I think it is value for money for the room size and outdoor view.

We stayed one night here in deluxe room and it was absolutely fabulous..wish it had been longer. The view from the room is just breath taking of the river and white water rafters occassionally going past. The staff were lovely and to be able to have a jacuzzi bath whilst looking out over superb views is just not to be missed. Ubud is a great area and we got a taxi into town arranged by the hotel. A definite recommendation to stay here!
