Puri Wirata has an excellent location....The staff are genuinely friendly....and its a great place. The foods good too..though the menu could have more interesting things too.....deserts!!!

We absolutely loved Puri Wirata! We had room 25 and it had a perfect view of the ocean from its cute little patio. Though the room wasn't too spacious, it had a beautiful canopy bed, a nice desk and chair, as well as a couch and coffee table. Excellent furniture!
The pool and restaurant location were another plus. They overlooked the ocean and provided a beautiful setting for enjoying meals, swimming or just reading by the pool. The beach was too rocky for swimming, but you could snorkle a bit out into the water. We highly recommend doing the PADI Scuba Diving course offered by Puri Wirata! It was awesome to do the practice skills in the hotel pool and then the amazing Coral Reef and USS Liberty dives are very nearby.
The only thing we thought was a little difficult about the location of Puri Wirata was that it was quite far from other major centres for shopping and food. It is definitely the perfect get-away from the tourist crowds though. Very romantic!!!

We had such an enjoyable time at this hotel we extended our stay two days. We went Scuba diving for the first time with Gerber, the Belgium manager of the hotel. The pool at the main portion of the hotel is 3mts deep allowing for instruction in diving before one explores the coral garden or shipwreck nearby. Although two pools are available for swimming in and they were always pristine in apperance. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Bungalow room which was large,clean, with lounge area (no tv) verandah, large bathroom, good king size bed and mozzie net. Very quiet location.Wi-fi in restaurant, but very slow. Restaurant on the grounds served good food. Other food available at nearby restaurants if you need a change. The Amed area of Bali is actually spread along 10kms of coastline. Most tourists seemed to stay put in their hotels. It is a great area to relax, read a book and chill out. The sound of crashing waves will lull you to sleep at night. No one will try and sell you anything if you go for a walk.

We booked a superior room. The room has many insects, especially at night, particularly in the toilet. It is quite far from the restaurant and pool. Many noises from animals (God knows what) and insects in the night. One gets woken up by these strange and eerie noises and it is quite unnerving to return to sleep. We paid the difference and upgrade to a villa the next day. No complaints but only compliments after the move. The villa is big, spacious, wonderful, clean and has excellent pool and seaview. No more strange and eerie noises. One can sleep very well. Villa is also very near to the restaurant and pool. The villa also has a dining table and as there's no additional charge for room service, one can get to enjoy meal in the dining hall while enjoying the seaview. The kids' only feedback is that they can't see the goats from the villa. The service is wonderful. Staff are good and kind. Resort Manager is friendly, professional and kind. This resort is good for young couples who want privacy and do some scuba diving. Oh yes, the superior room has no TV or telephone. Villa has TV but reception is rather poor.

Had an amazing stay at Puri Wirata, really great value for the room price and very helpful staff. The food wasn't great but everything else was a 10 out of 10!
This resort is wonderful - but not...
This resort is wonderful - but not for budget travellers. When I first arrived, I was given the $48 room (huge, beautiful, clean, great view) as the $25 one I had booked and paid for was being painted. After 2 nights I had to move to the smaller room, which was not worth the money. The facilities are great: snorkling off the beach, beautiful swimming pool, very friendly staff and management. So, if you can afford $48, it is a terrific place to go. (I have rated the $48 room)
