Bali
I have stayed at legion beach hotel on several occasions and always found it to be pleasent however this time the staff at the front desk were not very helpful and breakfast staff were very slack.the only two people who were quite friendly was choko at the pool bar and Wayan at the pool towels. I don't think I will stay at this hotel again.

Legian Beach Hotel is okay...but the Padma is better
The Legian Beach Hotel was an okay experience. The hotel grounds are very nice as are the pool areas and its location right on Legian Beach is excellent. Rooms are small. Our Garden View "cottage" was pleasant enough though although the bathroom was tiny and the lighting very poor. A decent size plasma TV was in the room with a reasonable DVD/CD player that was iPod compatible. TV channels were very limited though and something the LBH could easily address.
The downsides...
Don't believe that the LBH has a "health club" it doesn't. What they call a "health club" is a joke.
Food/beverage is very average. We tried both restaurants and the quality and pricing were poor. This isn't a problem however as there a plenty of options outside the hotel.
Service is very patchy. Attempts to get an iron or get somebody to iron some clothes on an hours notice were met with shrugged shoulders. Such a request at an "alledged" 5-star hotel (their rating) shouldn't be a problem. Getting poolside drinks/food usually meant having to go for a walk to try to find somebody to take your order.
Overall the LBH is pleasant enough but I couldn't recommend it. I'd rate it at 3.5 stars and certainly no higher than 4. The nearby Padma (which we have also stayed at) is a vastly better hotel.

We stayed for one week in a...
We stayed for one week in a Superior Double room in the main part of the hotel. The first night of our stay, we got a room which did not have a balcony or window. The next morning we asked if they had other rooms available with a balcony. They arranged a new one straight away & we changed rooms that afternoon. It was big enough for 2 adults with king bed, clean, the inbuilt safe is great, furniture in the room is dated though. The hotel is beautiful with green gardens & lovely water features within the lobby different to most hotels. Two pools with spa's,one with a swim up bar & various restaurants over looking the ocean. The breakfast is good, with a lot of variety. Hotel is located close to markets, shops, restaurants & bars. We found the hotel and the service here to be very good, all staff friendly and welcoming.

We had a problem with our air conditioning on the first few days of our stay at Legian Beach Hotel. The staff couldn't do enough to help us to the point of replacing the entire air conditioning system, it worked like a dream after that. Perfect location. Far enough away from Kuta for it to be quiet and relaxing, but close enough to walk there if you want to.

We stayed in the Legian Beach for...
We stayed in the Legian Beach for ten nights and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us an upgrade to a family room as they had given us a room with twin beds instead of a double. The hotel grounds and pools are lovely and this is where we spent most of the time. The breakfast was part of our rate and you could eat as much food as you liked and this was enough to last all day. I would recommend stocking you bar fridge in the room with drinks from the mini mart across the road as this was about half the price charged by the hotel, and also try the Bamboo Bar across the road as this was the best indonesian food we ate during our stay and this was also very well priced.

My husband, daughter and I recently stayed...
My husband, daughter and I recently stayed in this hotel. The rooms were nice, but not very big, I would say 2 adults is the limit. They were average in quality, very small fridge, tv, and furniture that had been renovated with a tin of paint. The worst feature of this hotel was the food. We ate one evening meal and a buffet meal in the hotel restaurant, which were both extremely poor quality. My first evening meal was not cooked and the chicken was raw in the middle. The buffet meal was easlity the worst meal I have ever had, both my husband and daughter got food poisoning from it. I made a complaint that evening and was told to speak to the hotel manager. For the next 4 days I tried to track down the hotel manager leaving numerous messages, to have none returned. Only upon check out did he appear when I refused to pay for the buffet meal, he discarded my complaint and was quite ignorant and the most uncustomer friendly manager I have ever met. It also seems to be their tactic to hide your luggage until your bill is paid. In the end I got 50% off the buffet meal which in my estimation was unsatisfactory due to medical bills for food poisoning and loosing a day of our holidays, hence I would not return.
