My daughters and I stayed one night...
My daughters and I stayed one night in May 2010. Hotel is a good representation of balinese hospitality. Set up is traditionally quaint, service friendly. My only complaint was that the down drain in the shower area of the bathroom was not working efficiently, and after a while got blocked.
Very nice hotel, close to the Monkey...
Very nice hotel, close to the Monkey Forest. Good value for money when it goes about the hotel itself. Staff was pretending to be friendly, but they were obviously not doing their best. When we ordered a scooter through the reception we got a very old one with broken speed display. It occured that the receptionist called her friend/family who rented us his own scooter! We couldn't keep it overnight cause its owner needed to go home! Next day we rented a scooter at the tourist office and we got one that was far better, cheaper and could be kept as long as we wanted. Be careful when you order services at the reception! The other thing was at our arrival. Although we made our reservation 2 months in advance, it turned out on the arrival that that don't have any room for us. Our room was first available the next day! We were transferred to a shabby "sister hotel" in the center of Ubud and said that if we choose to stay there all 5 nights we can get a massage AND a dinner for free. If only one night we only get one thing. The "sister hotel" was of bad standard and filthy and we were upset of only staying there one night! We think it was impertinent to suggest us staying a place like this and try to compensate it with only one dinner and a massage!! In the end we were back at Sahadewa after one night and got both things (after a bit argument at the reception desk...) So generally the hotel is ok, but be careful of staff being too "clever" (it applies actually to the most of Balinese who have any connection to tourist industry, unfortunately)

Our room was not available due to a plumbing problem, however the staff arranged a room in a good hotel nearby for 1 night while it was sorted out. We were given a free dinner to compensate. While we stayed at Sahadewa the service was exceptional. Very polite and attentive staff, great breakfast, very good value for money.

Our 4 nights at Sahadewa were very...
Our 4 nights at Sahadewa were very enjoyable. Have stayed several times in Jalan Monkey Forest but liked the location of Sahadewa despite being a 15 min or so walk to centre of Ubud. The hotel was peaceful, even though there were lots of guests. The room was spacious, clean and had all that was needed - frig, jug etc as well. Bathroom was very good. Nearby there are restaurants, convenience stores, internet cafe - just a short walk to ARMA which is very interesting too. We would certainly stay here again!! Booked room only as we wished to breakfast in a range of cafes.

Big room and bathroom. Free local fruits in room (though not many). Very helpful staff - provides umbrella when raining and contacts multiple SPA centers patiently (though the chosen one, Jalan Jalan SPA near the hotel, which was recommended by the staff at last after failing in booking the big names, came out to be rather disappointing). Beautiful garden view. Peaceful staying.
Cons:
Hot water not enough to fill half a tub. Small swimming pool. Cannot see famous Ubud rice fields.

My daughter Camille and his boyfriend have been quite disappointed at their arrival at the hotel as they have been transferred to another hotel further to a linkage in the room which they were expected to occupy.
The other hotel was lousy and did not correspond to the standard of the Shahadewa.
They have been offered a body massage each of them to compensate the trouble....Which is quite poor compensation.....
Fantastic value, absolutely gorgeous room very modern...
Fantastic value, absolutely gorgeous room very modern and beautifully clean with a huge bath. Only negative I can give is that there is no wall between bathroom and bedroom just a shower curtain but the room was so lovely it didn't matter. Great air con. The pool was quite small and shady but was a lovely area. Hotel close to monkey forest rd. Highly recommend this hotel.
Although we would have preferred an hotel...
Although we would have preferred an hotel at Monkey forest road for the shops and restaurants, we liked this hotel. we booked garden view but pool view are bettter rooms. breakfast is ok, choice between american and indonesian food but no buffet. and of course the roomrate of asiarooms was a lot cheaper than
what they asked us for a day more, so we went to ubud inn. which had a better location. people very friendly,
and would go back, but to go to monkey forest road in the evening , you must pass again monkey forest and walk
upstairs which we did not like. one morning persons of the cleaning service knocked at the door, time to clean the room and for us to take the breakfast as it was 10 AM.

Way above my expectation. Strategic location...
Way above my expectation. Strategic location in Ubud, great/friendly service, room is big, clean and value for money. If really wanna pick bout it,there is no view to enjoy from hotel room..but,right opposite the hotel,has a nice paddy field,a restaurant next to it, Zen spa to the right, a 24hr K mart on the opposite left. =) happy with it.
