Was there for about 3 days and 2 nights. Lovely place and within walking distance to the monkey forest and the market place. The place is definitely not suitable for the elderly since the bedrooms are upstairs while the bathroom is downstairs. But the view and serenity of the place is worth it. The breakfast can be a little better though. Friendly staff.

Biyukukung is nearly in the heart of...
Biyukukung is nearly in the heart of Ubud, and within easy ealking distance to all of the shopping, cafe's, and the central market. Placed exotically next to rice fields with a lovely lush green view, the ambience and setting is excellent. The pool appears to run straight into the green rice padi's next door... We stayed in the Suite #1 for 2 nights. Positives: The room is very large and accommodating. The bed was large and very comfortable. The outside bale was next to the pool, private, and overlooking the rice fields, very nice. Negatives: Receptionist at lobby was not friendly at all, very off-putting with each interaction. Other staff were always pleasant however. Breakfast very basic. Spa very expensive 3x as much as at resort in Kuta beach. In the Suite we were disappointed with the shower as the fittings were very cheap and the shower experience was painful at best. When we tried to use the bathtub/jacuzzi, we found that the hot water trickled so slowly that it would take days to fill the tub, so we didn't use that facility at all. The satellite TV channels are nearly all in Bahasa so English speaking guests could hardly call this a benefit. There is no internet access at the facility or restaurant either. (but these facilities are 2 min walk outside so no big deal) We would stay again at Biyukukung for the great location, ambience, and quiet peaceful surroundings. Yet we would probably only stay at the standard rooms as the suite 'ammenities' were not available to us, so not worth the price. We did view the standard/deluxe rooms, and they are very small, but still comfortable for a stay...

Even the Deluxe bedrooms are small and...
Even the Deluxe bedrooms are small and can take no more the 2 persons. Most disappointing is the fact theat the hotel have no restaurants whatsoever. Breakfast is very basic. Staff is young and inexperienced even though they are eager to be of service. Rooms with insects getting inside has to be accepted as part and parcel. Those downstairs toilet is a tad inconvenient but acceptable. Having no in-house spa/massage facility is another disappointment. Plus points for the hotel would be its location facing the padi field and 5 minute walk to the absolutely wonderful Bebek(duck) restaurant which i highly recommend for both its quality and price. Still, for around $70/night, the place is just about right, not more.

I loved this hotel! Biyukukung Suites and...
I loved this hotel! Biyukukung Suites and Spa is a perfect hotel for 20+/30+ year old yuppies with the fabulous padi fields view (complete with a family of ducks), lovely blue tiles infinity swimming pool and 2 storey suites (open air bathroom on the 1st floor, bedroom on the 2nd floor). However, this hotel is not suitable for families as the rooms are smallish and the staircase steep. And don't expect huge portions for breakfast - just fruit, juice, coffee and eggs with toast (served portions, not buffet). The location of the hotel is also a little isolated. But you'll be able to find a great traditional spa (Nur Beauty Saloon), Yoga place (Balispirit) and restaurant (Bebek Benggil) within walking distance. All in all a lovely hotel - I'll definitely go back to the Biyukukung Suites and Spa.

We had checked in another place with...
We had checked in another place with rice field views before personally visit Biyukukung Suites and Spa hotel in May, 2005. We were hold back by the review from Tannis / Canada, as it seems to be a bad choice despite wonderful rice field views which we were hunting for. The manager on site was very nice and even let us takes our time to view the rooms before we finally settle for the deluxe room. Biyukukung hotel car picked us up from our first accommodation and a nice welcome drink greets us when arrived. We took it to enjoy on our veranda overlooking the peaceful and panoramic rice field view. The bed on the second floor was very nicely done up and the place is very clean and proper even though the hotel has been around since June 2003 or earlier, perhaps. We went out for a day tour and returned late to be greet by a fruit platter basket on the table at our veranda. I loved the soak in the tub and the shower right under the sparkling stars of Bali skies. Perfect!! As we take pleasure in the serene night setting of the rice field over the fruits and hot coffee made from the in-room facilities, the hotel staff was making rounds in the compound. Breakfast was small serving but sufficient with coffee, fruit juices and fresh fruits. Had a short dip in the pool and a hotel staff noticed and left a pool-towel for me. We were right to choose Biyukukung as we enjoyed this place so much and it’s definitely worth the money spent and I will be back in the future Bali trips for longer stays. You had to be there to judge for yourselves as I saw the same review of Tannis / Canada from tripadvisor but it says Member, Malaysia. Funny.........

The Biyukukung Suites and Spa hotel is...
The Biyukukung Suites and Spa hotel is well located in the middle of a rice paddy field, nice view and very quiet. A little bit far away from the main Ubud streets (walking distance). Staff very young and not always very professional. The 2-story rooms are small but very clean and beautiful.

Ubud is a very nice city (do...
Ubud is a very nice city (do your shopping here and around in the country,  Kuta is like a big cheap quality flee market).  We we pleased at our arrival as the view on the rice field is beautifull and very relaxing.Tannis is right to say that the two floor bedroom (bedroom on the first,  bedroom on the second) cannot suit everyone.  Though you have a better view from the second floor on the rice field,  there is no toilet on the second floor (bedroom),  and you have to go down the stairs at wee hours for urgen matters,  which wakes you up ... the curtains also let the sun come in,  which is quite early (bring your "eye cover").Breakfast is quite limited,  and you can see the butter suffered in the individual cups.  There is some very nice cafes around (one which is a library/chess room,  and another one specialised in yoga on 2nd floor) where you want to spend your morning and plan your day anyhow. The pool is small,  but perfect for this size hotel.  You may want to relaxe there after a good session at the spa.  I had the Prince 2:30hrs massage/bath,  and I felt like a king.I would recommend this place despite running up and down the stairs in the morning,  overheated butter and limited breakfast.  The SPA,  view,  ambiance will offset those inconveniants.

I have stayed from April 6 to...
I have stayed from April 6 to 10, 2004 to Biyukukung Suites and Spa in Bali. The hotel was everything the photos represented, and I loved it. The place is new, spot clean, and of good taste. The pool was very well maintained as staff takes leaves and flowers out of water a few times a day. The room is not large except for a suite, a big king bed fill the 2nd floor of the villa, big enough for 2 people. Anyone who have fit the 3rd adult in the room is misguided. I was alone and quite happy with the villa size. The staff were also very helpful. The reception is open 24 hours. All rooms face a nice rice field, and depending the season, you can watch a flock of ducks move from one rice paddy to another. Very peaceful. You wake up with a rooster, and goes to bed with frogs singing. If it rains, the little drum of raindrain harps a nice Bali drum music. The spa is only 2 minutes walk from the central Ubud, so it is easy to get around on foot. But the hotel car is always at your service. If you want to go to a restaurant, a dance, shopping whatever, they will drop you off and pick you up. That's the service I loved. For example, they take you to a site where tranditional dance is performed. Afterwards, they are there to pick you up, and if you want to go to dinner, take you to the restaurant of your choice. After dinner, if you have a restaurant call the hotel, they will come and pick you up right away. All this service all for free. I used it many times during my stay. This is where I would like to come back to stay again and again.

This is a very nice little hotel...
This is a very nice little hotel with a fantastic view of the surrounding Paddi fields. We stayed 1 night in a suite, and i could not fault the Biyukukung Suites and Spa in Bali. The pool is breathtaking and the spa was very relaxing, and the Suite was one of the best that i have ever stayed in! i would highly reccomend this hotel. To be honest i would ignore the review from Tannis as it does not give a true insight to this hotel.
