relaxation hospitality
The hotel is kind of distance from the ubud town but they will provide the free shutter to the pekan upon your request. Some how there is no near by restaurant or grosary shop around the area. Even the taxi also can not located this resort.

If you wanted to get away from...
If you wanted to get away from everything and spend most of your time at the hotel, then this is probably the place for you. There are rice paddies surrounding the hotel. Its so well tucked away that our driver had a bit of trouble finding the hotel. You may also enjoy the very loud croaking frogs and insects in the night. However if you wanted to explore Ubud, in my opinion this is the best location. Although there was a free hotel shuttle service to the centre of Ubud, the trip each way took around 15mins in non-congested traffic (which is unlikely in the day). My partner and I stayed here for one night in the superior room. The website says the room "overlooks the infinity-edge salt-water pool as well as either the rice field terraces or the spring-fed stream and features 1 king-sized bed." We were looking onto a construction site where I think 2 new villas were being built. We had 2 twin beds pushed together instead of one king sized bed. The outdoor bathroom was big but too hot. We could see that Bhanuswari used to be great, but is now a little run down and requires some touching up. Our plug hole in our sink was blocked. We had quite an unfortunate experience at Bhanuswari. When we got back from Ubud centre in the night, we plugged a phone charger into a socket. The fuse went and the whole room was left without electricity. Luckily we had showered before this happened. We called reception about it and they promised to send someone over immediately to deal with it. We waited for around 30 minutes in the dark without air-conditioning. It was around quarter past midnight, we were tired and gave up waiting and decided to sleep without air-conditioning. We spoke to the manager the next morning. At first he didn't believe that we had called reception the night before for assistance. He insisted that he would have answered the phone and he had no recollection of us phoning. Then he offered to take $5 off our price. We thought this was ridiculous. We said if we wanted a non air-conditioned room, we would have gone somewhere else and paid much less. The manager kept saying he didn't want to argue with us but he didn't seem to be very reasonable by giving us a $5 discount. In the end, when we finally checked out, the manager reluctantly accepted our offer to pay the price of a standard room. The breakfast was ok. We were a bit disappointed that we had to choose between either fruits and a fruit juice. All the other hotels we stayed at offered both fruits and fresh fruit juice. Furthermore the pineapples that were served were not ripe enough to eat. Our friends wanted to have a massage at Bhanuswari before we left for the airport. However for some reason the spa was closed. Overall it was very unfortunate that we did not have the best experience at Bhanuswari. The rural setting amongst the rice paddies would have been very enjoyable if we didn't encounter the above problems.

The service is rather good, staff are nice. However, this hotel is located in a remote village, all taxi driver don't know where the hotel is, it takes time to find the location and thus increase my travelling expenses. It's a bit inconvenience although shuttle service is provided by the hotel (but we have to wait for half an hour because the staff has forgotten to pick up). If you like the quite place away from city, a green garden around you, low budget, this hotel is your choice. Besides, bad smell of the toilet, we have to stop breathing, overall room is OK if renovation can be made on the bathroom, thanks.

The location is a bit out of...
The location is a bit out of the way, in Tegulak village, south west of ubud. Bhanuswari does provide a free shuttle into ubud, when you need it. They will also provide transportation to other hotels for a very reasonable charge (RP200,000) for a ride down to Kuta. The food in the restaurant was fairly good, but with all the great choices in ubud, you really don't have to eat there. The rooms are clean, but kind of small. What I did not like were the round pebbles in the shower in the bathroom -- that was kind of uncomfortable, but some may like it.

The room was wonderful, clean with 5...
The room was wonderful, clean with 5 star quality though the bathroom is a little bit small and without long bath, hence may not be ideal for honeymooners. But, to compensate for that the swimming pool is just at your doorstep. The location is less than ideal as it is 15mins away from the Ubud town and surprisingly, many local taxis are unaware of the hotel existence. The road leading to the hotel from the main access road was very bumpy, narrow and it was an untarred road. Luckily the hotel provide free shuttle to the town centre as if not the local taxi would charge Rp50,000 for each trip. The staff are very friendly no doubt and the place is very quiet due to its low occupancy rate and indeed suitable for those who prefer lonely peaceful countryside experience. Spa and massage are cheap but not of high quality if to compare with the one in Town ie Bali Ratu Spa. Meals provided in the hotel were good and price comparable to those decent restaurant in town. Breakfast included in the stay was delicious.

What I can say about this hotel...
What I can say about this hotel is that the service is awesome. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only bad thing is probably the location. It's rather far from the centre of Ubud. However, there is FREE shuttle service (drop-off and pick-up), so how cool is that!! Thus, location was not a problem anymore because the shuttle service is anytime we like it. The price is also reasonable. The superior room that I stayed in was very spacious and had an amazing pool view. Loved staying there. Note that the road leading to the hotel is not very smooth. Don't expect a metropolitan 5-star kind of hotel because it is, as explained, located inside the paddy field. Expect a small, rural but luxurious hotel.
