Visit May 2011
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and love the setting and gardens, however the room we had was very dirty and poorly maintained. Breakfast was adequate but the staff did not seem organised or go out of thier way to actually provide service we noticed a number of guests ask for seating arrangement but staff were not accomodating. Restaurant service at dinner was appalling, could not get attention to order drinks, then waited 40 minutes and order was wrong, food order dealt with a little quicker but quality very ordinary, prices for drinks - food and service was expensive for what you got, again love the location and gardens but would not stay again based on this experience, this was my 28th trip to Bali.

Tjampuhan - great to relax...
All in all, excellent place to just chill out in. The resort itself spills over onto a lush hillside so it feels like you're in the midst of a jungle - with trees, butterflies and birds everywhere. Great to wake up to! Rooms are OK - the hotel is venerable and has character but alas, the rooms show it. Having said that, the place itself was clean and comfortable. No TV and internet in the rooms, which in some ways was an advantage. You do get free wi-fi in the lobby and restaurant to catch up on mails if required. A word of warning - some rooms do not have a/c just fans - but that was quite sufficient despite the fact that I went in mid-April and it was quite warm and humid. A short walk to the centre of town (a leisurely 15 minutes). The hotel runs an hourly shuttle bus which is quite convenient.

Beautiful hotel! Lovely staff!
I stayed at the Hotel Tjampuhan Spa with my husband and 7 month old son. I emailed the hotel from before and asked fpr a crib and kettle to boil water for his bottles. We had a lovely crib and everything we needed for us before we arrived. they also gave us a room with not many steps to come up and down so it would be easy to transport baby, i stayed in the bukit rooms and they had a beautiful view of the rainforest like atmosphere. the hotel is located on a valley so all the rooms are up and down, its so beautiful, the spa is very nice too with very friendly staff, i would recomend a massage at the spa. you have a veiw of the river and all the surrounding natural beauty and its sounds so relaxing to being there they dont even have to play any music. note the rooms do not have a tv, so if like us you have to stay in because of the rain, make sure you bring a good book, or games for the kids. or you could just head down to the spa. rooms service (food) is ok, food may arrive a bit cold and when you order the lamb chops its not much of a meal, two tiny chops is not very filling. On the other hand the breakfast buffet is very good, and is served till 10.30, its very filling it kept us going till dinner! All in all, the beauty of this place is out of control. it was a very very pleasnt stay!

Tropical Paradise with a thigh workout
Ok so once you get over the fact that there are millions of steps everywhere and you adjust to having no tv in your room, you can start to unwind and marvel at the amazing, exotic, jaw droppingly gorgeous gounds. These include lily ponds, pools surrounded by intricate carvings, a spa in a carved cave and incredibly kind staff. I loved the free hourly bus to the museum or monkey forest which had pick up return points until late in the evening. Open air, shared tv and internet lounge a plus and views to die for. Have fun.

Fantastic
We loved staying here, we were there for half an hour and changed our booking from 4 to 7 nights.
So very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the grounds and resort in general was immaculate.
Highly reccommend this accommodation!!!
The only thing that may have been better is a fridge in the room for the water if nothing else...

Beautiful resort in the middle of the jungle overlooking a river. So peaceful and calm.
10 minutes walk to the city center and if you don't feel like walking, the hotel offers a free shuttle service into town.
The hotel staff is really friendly and helpful; they organize everything you can possibly think of and at really reasonable prices; we had a driver for 3 days organized by the hotel, tours and misc reservations and never had any problem.
The only down point would be that the pools close quite early and that you have to pay (6 USD) to get access to the sauna and jacuzzi but other than than, everything was just brilliant and we would definitely stay there again next time.

Pure bliss!
Just the most amazing setting, couldn't talk highly enough of the place. Went with my 15 year old son and he loved it, he kept commenting on how friendly the staff were and they are, would bend over backwards for you. If you want true traditional Balinese atmosphere this is the place. Can't wait to head back there. Be prepared to catch the reliable free shuttle bus to head into Abud for dinner at night, strongly suggest Cafe Lotus.

It's a good natural experience
As before I saw a lot of comments that isn't positive at cleanliness of hotel, it incur my anxious. While, when we entre the room, it sheer beyond my oringinal expectation. Very Bali's style. Acturally, compared with other five star hotels, it seems a totally different. building in the valley, longway between yr room with the lobby, and bug or ant couldn't be avoid, but who could truss up ants' legs? Of course, it is clean enough to stay in a bali's night.

Accommodation
We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Despite of the creepy crawlers ands insects flying into our bathroom, the serenity of the hotel was great. To experience the nature of the environment which we are not able to experience in the city was ovewhelmed and spectacular.
