The service stood out, not intrusive but...
The service stood out, not intrusive but extremely helpful, informed and friendly staff. Even when the property was supposed to be full, we saw few guests due to the discreteness of the villas. We especially enjoyed the morning walk and the afternoon yoga was wonderful. The restaurant is top class and the whole ambience at the Uma is so comfortable, relaxing and calm, we had to push ourselves to go out. It was perfect for us to unwind and recharge our batteries. The room was lovely and the the bathroom even better. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for this holiday as we needed to replenish physically, spiritually and emotionally.

We stayed at the Uma Pool suite,...
We stayed at the Uma Pool suite, though room 31 is the farthest in the hotel , it's worth walking up and down the stairs. The villa is nicely built and decorated inside. The furniture is new and clean , especially the spacious bathroom. The amenities are very good , same as the spa treatment. I joined the complimentary yoga session in the most stunning yoga sala , overlooking mountains and river !! Another good thing is the hotel located on the road to Ubud centre so we can easily walk outside. Get a free ride to The Estate ( Como Shambala ) , the sister hotel , to enjoy its magnificent spa and space. LOVE it : >

This hotel is lovely in a beautiful...
This hotel is lovely in a beautiful setting. The staff and service were great, and food also. The only thing that was a disadvantage for me was the number of geckos living in the thatached rooves of the rooms. They are constantly noisy and every day you have to be careful of their droppings on the floors and surfaces. We changed rooms twice because of the number of geckos, and in the first room, there was a big lizard in the roof.

We would recommend everyone to stay in...
We would recommend everyone to stay in this unique hotel. Only one think that I would appreciated the improvement, is the size of the twin bed. They should be at least full size beds.

We stay in the cheapest "Terrace Room", There's only one chair inside. And two wicker chairs in the balcony. It's inconvenience. The hot water in the shower room was limited. If you had a shower more than 5-8 minutes, the hot water will run out. You must wait 30-60 minutes for them to heat the water. It's really bad when you're taking a romantic flower bath but the water become cold...

Wonderful hotel. Service stretched beyond a mile. The staff made our stay extremely pleasant. It is the little touches that you are just amazed how they are trained. It has a lot to do with the attitude. For example the shutter would stop on the street when he spotted us and offer a drive. When we had too much to carry, they allow us to drop the shopping with them at the town pick up point and brought back to the hotel for us. Served ice water at the pool side, not trying to sell bar service. When we asked the front desk for a box to pack our fragile shopping, the concierge actually noticed we had more and offer to take care of all the packages. Excellent services plus the beautiful hotel makes our stay worth every cent paid for.

Fantastic hotel all round but a litle...
Fantastic hotel all round but a litle disappointed that there were quite a few children at the hotel particularly as they seem to market themselves as more of a relaxing retreat hotel than a family resort. Otherwise, very very good.
