A mean streak
Although the Bali Agung Village is a lovely looking property, with nice gardens and pool... there are problems that need fixing. The breakfast offerings were basic, and a meal at the restaurant was a disaster... the food was not good... everything drenched in oil, to the extent that I was physically sick after eating it. This hotel badly needs a new chef who knows how to prepare common dishes. Very few people use the restaurant, and I can see why.
There is no drinking water supplied free to the room (unlike every other hotel I have ever stayed at), and as soon as you use a bottle of water from the fridge, the staff are on your doorstep asking for payment! This is a mean attitude, as bottled water is so cheap for them to supply.
The room is adequate and clean, but a little expensive when compared to other hotels. It is important to check laundry bills etc, as the staff incorrectly calculated my bill (in their favour) on one occasion.

We would recommend the Bali Agung Village to those people who want a quiet place to return to at the end of every day and who also appreciate the Balinese traditions. This hotel suited us very well. It was authentic in style and service and the gardens are lushly tropical and well kept.
Our room was adequate for our needs and fresh sheets every day made the difference, The staff were always friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast excellent.
The only downside which we spoke to the management about was the heap of rubbish on the driveway at the entrance to the hotel. Not their land they said but it needs to be attended to as first impressions count and it would only take their gardeners 10 mins a day to keep it clear of rubbish which unfortunately is a major problem all over Bali and one that is getting worse.
The laneway into the hotel is through a Kampong-Balinese resident area- and it was cleaner than the driveway to the hotel so we really think that they should address this rubbish problem .
However saying that we would stay there again and have recommended it to friends.

Excellent trip
We enjoyed our stay athe Bali Agung Villa very much, the surrounds were very traditional and aesthetically pleasing. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms and surrounds very well kept and clean.

Great staying!!! Location very nice and quiet, set into a nice tropical garden, placed into the crowded Seminyak but so far from the noise. Maybe, since the hidden position, not so easy to find and to get on foot in the night... More signs and lights would be needed along the way. Our taxi driver didn't know it either!

The quality of accommodation was a very pleasant surprise.
The quiet room was a good size with a quality mattress and air-conditioner.The bathroom was clean and modern.
The hotel had all required facilities and I would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

The Bali Agung Village is currently refurbishing rooms progressively. On our arrival we were advised that our standard room was booked out until the next day and that we were upgraded to a villa. The friendly reception guy advised that we could stay in the villa for the remainder of our stay. We extended for an extra day as the resort was so nice. Our villa was not refurbished but was clean and well maintained. Our only adverse comment would be that their laundry should bleach towels and sheets.

We enjoyed our stay. Good and happy service. Great to be away from the Kuta chaos but still have access to it with the shuttle bus.

The outside setting, appearance and garden maintenance of this hotel is very appealing, picturesque and well maintained. The buffet breakfast is great and dished are all covered (which was great to see). The service and staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. The room inside, especially the bathroom needs to be updated and freshened up - this brought the standard of the place way down.
