There are endless list of good things to talk about about Waka Di Ume. Where should we start?
Waka Di Ume means Waka (name of a person) at rice paddy. We really LOVED this place. Every statue, pond, tree… every little thing is very thoughtfully placed and decorated. SO beautiful. The pool, the spa, the bungalow hanging in the middle of rice paddy, the restaurant, the rice paddy…
We had the Lanai Rice Terrace room – our balcony was facing the rice paddy. Beautiful room, when we got back from the Centre after dinner, the mosquito net was already put down on our bed by the staff! Two umbrellas are provided at the front, near the entrance.
All staff are very friendly and the hotel offers a great range of complimentary services, such as:
1. Yoga at 3 PM
2. Daily afternoon tea from 3.30 PM to 4.30 PM (You MUST try this – Even though you’re not a big fan of Balinese traditional sweets, just go for the lovely tea pots and cups and most importantly, GREAT view!)
3. Free shuttle to Ubud Centre (aka Ubud town centre) every hour – runs early and until 22:15 PM.
The breakfast included is not buffet breakfast, but Continental Breakfast. Simple (fruit + 4 different kinds of pastries + tea/coffee) but very nice! Otherwise, you can always replace it with any other food in the menu of which the price does not exceed the Continental Breakfast.
Shame about the price of the spa in the hotel. You can get MUCH cheaper price for spa in Ubud Centre.
Monkey Forest – Take the free shuttle and tell them you wanna be dropped off at Monkey Forest. Monkey Forest is located at the end of Ubud Centre.
Elephant Safari Park – Depends what you wanna do, specifically mention if you wanna do the Elephant Ride or just look at them in the Safari. You can book from the hotel reception. Elephant Ride is HIGHLY recommended – the longest ride is 35 minutes and through the forest.
There are other people offering Elephant Tour, etc in the Ubud Centre, but we personally think the one that we booked from the hotel (Bali Adventures) is quite a good one!
