A wonderful hotel to get away from...
A wonderful hotel to get away from the ratrace. We had no desire to go to a crowded beach as our own private pool was perfect. Great service and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. They also gave us a late checkout and even made up the room again so we could swim and shower before we left. Excellent.
This is a more traditional Balinese styled...
This is a more traditional Balinese styled resort where one can get away from the city life. The area is very quiet and peaceful (save the occasional roar of passing plane) and surrounded by greenery. There are no audio and visual equipment in the rooms so you can really detach yourself from the rest of the world for a few days. Staff are really friendly and helpful and that made our stay more enjoyable. One thing I would like to comment is that the resort should be better maintained than it currently is for the rate they are charging, but it was otherwise a pleasant resort to stay in.
We stayed at Waka Maya in July...
We stayed at Waka Maya in July 05 and although very quiet (only 2 other guests) the rooms, service and staff were excellent. The hotel has free regualar transport to Sanur (5 mins drive) with good restaurants and shopping. The beach is also 5 mins drive but we found it a little disapointing and not so clean.We spent more time by the lovely pool and took advantage of the spa facilities there. We also stayed at the Waka di ume (sister hotel in Ubud) which is also lovely and set overloooking the rice fields in the countryside. Service here was also good and the staff spoke better English and were even more friendly.
Would recommend this hotel if you want a clean, tranquil hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. Modern Bali style.
