look elsewhere!!
we stay in alot of hotels around the world, in varying categories of standard, for b0th leisure & business.
we understand things sometimes go wrong, taps drip, air cond noisy, slow check in, etc... usually a phone call rights your problem & an enjoyable stay is had.
unfortunately with bluepoint spa &villas(listed as 4 star), the cleanliness & the worn out, run down state of the rooms cannot be overlooked. our 1st room 521 (superior) was appalling. the 4 walls & ceiling were majorly water/damp stained with large dark water/mould marks. bathroom had black mould around tiling in bath, floor & basin. we asked to be moved & the hotel kindly upgraded us to a 2 storey villa with shared pvt pool(room 315). i'm sorry to say this was no better.the pvt pool had rough, lifting timber decking with exposed nails & missing tiles around edge of pool. the room was dirty with more mould & water stains, stains on walls & floors, worn out faded blinds & the clincher in deciding we'd check out after only 1 nt was the spa/jacuzzi in the bathroom. when switched on accidentally, something squirmed out of the spa jets/nozzles. being so disgusted by this we felt it necessary to video it on the i-phone & show it to res mgr on check out. i could not recommend this hotel to anyone. the only nice thing is the infinity pool overlooking the fantastic surf action below. however be aware the hotel sells a day use pool pass to visitors so on the day we checked in, a schoolies group had taken over every lounge chair. they were well behaved, thats 1 consolation, the other being they all left around 5pm!! my comments reflect those of other reviewers which i had read before booking this hotel. i only wish i'd taken their advise.

Blue Point Bay Villas is a beautiful...
Blue Point Bay Villas is a beautiful scenic place to stay. It has 2 glorious pools and nice restraunts. The grounds are lovely but the deluxe room needs updating very much. When the rooms match the outside surrounds this would be a top place to stay. The cost of the deluxe room was the most expensive that we paid for a room in Bali at A$182.00. Breakfast was included but was limited in choices compared to other hotels. It still provided a continental type and a hot breakfast in the restrant with views of the ocean far below. Staff were very friendly and most helpful. The only thing that let this place down was the condition of the deluxe room. It is also out of the way and you need transport to get around.

Basically, this is a surfer's paradise, the location was quite far away from the popular places like kuta and seminyak, it is only a few km away from the uluwatu temple. pro: 1) the hotel location was very good on the hill top overseing the ocean, you can see the surfers doing their staff there. 2) the main pool and the glass chapel was also very nice and romantic, especially at night. 3) the food of the hotel was decent in term of quality and price, nothing to shout about but are good enough for us. cons: 1) the room amenities and setup, you can easily find such room quality for less then USD50 in the area of kuta and seminyak, the price that they have charge is mainly due to the location. and by the way, we are staying in the normal delux room. 2) the location, its quite remote and very far away from the popular eating/shoping places, there is no complimentary hotel transfer, you will always need to pay the driver there to send you out. as a conclusion, if you are looking for a nice and romantic place to relax and no really like to go out, and/or you are a surfer, i think you will like this hotel. otherwise, you have to think twice. rgds,

We stayed 5 nights in Blue Point...
We stayed 5 nights in Blue Point Bay in an ocean front villa after upgrading our previously booked garden villa upon arrival. The place, we were told, was originally a restaurant and a gathering point for surfers which then was expanded into a villa hotel 6 years ago. Location: This hotel is a stand alone resort on top of a romantic cliff in the rather isolated Uluwatu area. Surrounded by many Bali-typical home stay pensions and surfer bays, Blue Point is good for a silent and peaceful stay for people seeking a relaxing holiday with friendly and good service. There are no construction sites nearby, which is rare in Bali nowadays. Nearest town Jimbaran can be reached by hotel shuttle (when available) after a bumpy ride in 35 mins. Nearby lies the wonderful Uluwatu temple with a famous local dance (chaka-chaka) which is a must see in Bali. Rooms: Rooms are extremely spacious, though the space at hand is not used optimal by the architects. 2-Floor garden villas have the bedroom and bathroom downstairs with a completely empty space upstairs. Furniture is too simple and worn-out. For the price we would expect better design and quality of room interior. In every room there are a number of mosquito repellents installed with a strong fragrance that somewhat disturbs. Our sea front villa was more of a sea front "palace" with 2 huge bedrooms, two huge bathrooms and a panorama glass front living room and private pool. It all sounds incredible, with the one draw back that the interior is not what we expected in terms of convenience and quality. Here again a lot of empty space without reason and old looking furniture. After relaxing a couple of days and switching the mind off from work life, everything looks and feels better though. Value: Bali is an expensive place if you are looking for something special. In this regard Blue Point was good value for us. There are definitely more convenient hotels around Bali if you are more of a mainstream experience seeker.

I stay at Blue Point Bay from...
I stay at Blue Point Bay from 6-9th Oct, 07 at the 2 story villa. First of all, the hotel is so remote that customer can only take hotel car which is more expensive for travelling the city. Besides, the hotel is doing one-two wedding in their hotel chapel and blocking all main entrance for hotel customer for few hours a day. This is very inconvenince for hotel customers to walk back to our villa through alley instead of main entrance. The hotel has only one very small resturant and is not easy to get table if the wedding dinner is also held in the hotel. The room is so small that only has one chair not even a 2 seater sofa. The roof is nearly empty but a coffee table and 2 chairs The pool is so deep that young kid can not be with fun at all particularly there is no life guard provided. Overall, I am not recommending this hotel to anyone as this is not a value for money at all.

The view is fantastic...Great sunset at the swimming pool! It's very good for surf travelers. If you are going with someone that's not a surfer make sure you not stay to long. It's a very isolated location, not conveniant for shoppers at all.
