The hotel was good but surprisingly empty. Service was good. There was an hourly shuttle into Ubud.
Resturant was overpriced and therefore empty. I thought we would be nearer Ubud .

When you first arrive there is an air of splender within a jungle area. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and many in mini enclaves of small appartments. The main house was an old colonial building with the rooms cnverted into a plush and frendly enviroment.
There are two small pools with plenty of towels but because there is so much to do in the surrounding area of Ubud you use them occasionally. The Mansion run a minin bus into Ubud every hour with the last return at 21.20 which gave you time to eat out.
We only had the breakfast but that was waiter service and very relaxing. Because we were out of season, the price from Asia rooms was very appealing as some rooms had a $600 tag on them.

this resort surpassed all my expectations. value for price, you would never be able to stay in such a luxurious resort such as this in northamerica or the caribbean for this price. everything was 100 percent! food, spa, service, could not want for anything more! the woman that owns this resort is to be commended, and she has an amazing art collection! its close enough to ubud, so you are outside of the hustle and bustle. if you want complete peace and quiet with luxurious surroundings, than this place is definitely for you. also this is a good place for women travelling solo, like i did!

Excellent choice of hotel, my husband and I stayed for 1 week in October 2008. We booked a Frangipani room and were upgrded to a Governers suite free of charge on arrival. Very quite, relaxing hotel. Staff couldn't do enough to please you. Breakfast menu could become a little monotinous, especially when some advertised food items were not available, although that said, the quality of the food was very good.

Room with balcony was beautiful. The service was excellent. Food was excellent. I looked at the prices for the Spa and found them a little excessive for Bali. We ended going to another spa in Ubud. I was disappointed that the hotel charged a 100% commission on getting a Yoga instructer (which we thought was unheard of.) They also did not know that we had already paid the instructer! that delayed our check out. Food prices were also on the high end.
