An ok review for an ok hotel. Nothing flash about this one.
Was a nice hotel but the renovations next door were a bit annoying.
They did more work during the night than in the day time.
Mind you, it was hard to hear the work in my room. But was annoying when swimming or at the tequila bar.
The food and drinks were very expensive at the hotel so we ate out most nights.
The tequila bar was always empty and they played the music up too loud to sit and enjoy the scenery.
All in all the rooms were cheap and clean but I don't think I would stay there again.
I've stayed in nicer hotels for the same price in kuta before.

Smelly shower
Drainage problem with the shower base, exhaust fan sucks out bad smell from drainage hole. Shower head pressure poor and hot water takes too long.
Silicon sealer around the shower glass panels full of black mould. Air conditioning noisy and leaked water. Telephone did not work room to room. Staff did not accept electronic receipt of the booking.

Great value for money hotel it is a 3 -4 star hotel and that is what you get. Good sized clean rooms, fabulous breakfast and terrific location. All the staff were extremely friendly. We went with our son and his friends for their 'leavers' and the hotel was very accommodating in letting them all stay and party around the pool until the wee hours of the morning. The pool area is lovely with a great swim up bar.
Slightly disappointed on checkout when we had to pay for an umbrella that was supposedly missing from the room - as it never rained we had no need to use an umbrella during our stay so hadn't even checked how many there were but as it was only ten dollars not too much of an issue really.

Shortened visit to The Grand Istana Rama
My trip was cut short because of the Ash cloud over Perth. My flight was cancelled and so I arrived a day late and was charged for the two nights I had booked over asiarooms.com.
I suppose that is fair enough.
My visit was very enjoyable, the bed was comfortable with lovely gardens and poolarea. The breakfast was sensational!
I would definitely go back.
Check in process was slow. I had booked the room for 8 nights, and had USD to pay for my accomodation. They only had me down for 7 nights and said they would fix up the 8th night in the morning when reservations opened. No worries, I will pay USD for 7. Of course didnt have change so wanted me to charge it to my card....no way, as I had the correct ammount for 8 nights!!!! Another 30 mins and eventually decided to take the whole amount for the 8 nights....
Shown to our room, and after listening to a compressor turning on and off all night, requested a move the next morning, which was done.
Breakfast is ok, bit limited and with all the food out in the open, found flies on the uncovered breads and other foods.
Wouldnt call it family frendly, as there main concerns around the pool is fillinf the people full of piss at the pool bar, which is located right next to the shallow end, so no place for the children to swim and play.
Nice location, room for improvements
Very idyllic setting with small bungalows and hotel sections spread over a big area. Nice international and Indonesian breakfast until 10am. Very quiet at night. Direct access to beach after crossing the street.
At check-in (but after paying up for the full stay) we were notified that the swimming pool would be closing for renovation on our last of 3 days. Later this info was revised so that in fact it closed already the first evening of our stay. Next morning it appeared that there was no hot water in the shower in the room. We complained and was given a new more luxerious room at no extra cost. This time the hot water was working. The new room was excellent, had it not been for the fact that during one night the power went out. It turned out not to be a power outage, but a blown fuse which was repaired promptly on request. Only to blow again a couple of hours later.
Renovating the pool is of course something that needs to be done now and then. Informing before booking would be even better. If we knew, we would have booked elsewhere.
Well priced Hotel
Have stayed at many hotels in Bali and this one would rate well for those looking for a well priced hotel in a good location with all the basic amenities. The pool was being upgraded on the day we left and was due for completion end of April 2011.

Location not very near to shopping area... have to walk quite a distance.
Room towels need to change, very old.
