Cosy and quiet hideaway with great food nearby
Thie place was value-for-money. We stayed for 5 days in Jan in the Bungalow for under $100 USD per night. The service was very friendly, althought their English could be better. The room was super clean, airconditioned, and they even installed electronic mosquito repellent so I did not suffer any mosquito bite during my stay there! The TV had many channels, including ESPN and movie channels to keep us entertained. There was a DVD player included as well. The pool was clean and of a reasonable size. A good selection of choices were available for breakfast. I'd recommend in the mee goreng, the omlette and the fried eggs sets.
The mattress can be improved, it's a bit too springy in the middle compared to the sides, making for a slightly uncomfortable sleep.
The hotel is a short 5min walk from the beach. But please note that this beach has very strong waves, and is not suitable for swimming.
The hotel itself is about 25000 rupiah from Seminyak, where there's lots of good food choices like Made Warung (recommended).

I cannot post a review of this...
I cannot post a review of this hotel as when we went to check in they said they were full and we had to go to another nearby hotel. The room we were given was not a suite as we had booked and they would not give us a discount. The new hotel staff were very helpful and the rooms and pool were nice but it was not the place that we had chosen.

We really enjoyed our holidays at Puri Madawi... The staff is really careful, and always available ! This hotel is a small size, really well decorated with a pretty tropical garden. We'd come back there if we have the opportunity to go back to Bali. The only "negative" point would be the location from the beach but just 5 min walk !! Value for money if you are looking for a quiet place to chill out !

Well what a little gem!! We took it on the asiarooms recommendations even though they said it was out a bit but knowing the area I was liking that fact. 2-5 minute taxi ride to centre of Seminyak, restaurants ,cafes, shops, money change etc. Because of the ever increasing building on Bali the road through the gorgeous paddy fields was a bit rough but when you got to Puri Madawi all this faded with the quiet ambience, service and friendliness of the staff which was exceptional and everything was immaculate. We'll be going back bumpy road or not.

I have stayed before and returned so I would stay again. However the hotel is out of town and needs a taxi (Which is easy to get and cheap) to get anywhere. There is lots of building going on around the hotel. Not noisy but changing the once rural environment to being more built up. The road access is down a quite long poor un-made up road once flanked by rice fields which are now disappearing fast with some houses being built. There is a footpath to the beaches through some local back gardens. The beach here is very quiet and where you can get a drink with few sellers. Good sand for children and beach walks. The hotel is very unique (a nice cottage style) with a good pool. The only criticism is the very poor quality of towels provided. I would stay again but be aware this is in an out of town location. Which I think is better, but others may want to be closer to the action. Taxis to town are cheap £1 to £2 so it isn't really a problem. But you need a taxi to get virtually anywhere.

Hotel was great, very clean. Staff were very friendly. Hotel is out of the way, no restaurants or shops etc nearby, so you do need to hire a scooter/car or use taxis to get around(taxis very cheap). Ideal if you want a quiet relaxing holiday.
