The location of the villa is pretty...
The location of the villa is pretty good, not near the beach at all, but at least along the main shopping street on jalan seminyak. The villa also has a free shuttle service to kuta, so that's a nice added convenience.
However, the private pool that we got for our one-bedroom suite was rather small, more like a large jacuzzi than anything, and there wasn't much sun. The room was also infested with mosquitoes, I must've killed at least 5 within the few hours that we were in the room, and those were the ones that I managed to catch. Luckily, they provided a mosquito net for the bed, which left us relatively unharrassed during the night.
The best part about our little kitchenette is that they have a bottle opener! Very convenient for the large bintang bottles we carted in from the nearby convenience stores.
Breakfast was also pretty good. Their omelet station was good, and they had this very tasty chicken wing dish on the morning that we checked out.
Overall, it's a cheaper alternative if you don't want to stay in a hotel and the other villas are too expensive. However, you do get what you pay for - the interior of our room was pretty old, and there are lots of mozzies zipping around. Compared to the other villa we stayed at on our last night in bali, Desamuda was rather disappointing in comparison.
