Great location and hotel grounds
Legong Keraton Hotel is in a great spot for those wanting to stay a bit further out of Kuta for some peace and quiet, its right on the beach at Brawa Beach and about 15-20min in a cab to Kuta. We didnt pay more than 50,000Rp for a cab each way, a little over $5aud. The hotel is pretty good value for money, the rooms are big and clean and quiet. The only let downs were the high price for Wifi, at 35,000 for 2 hours it seemed expensive and considering we had just stayed in about 8 other hotels across SE Asia and getting free Wifi (theres free Wifi at the CircleK for gods sake!) we thought they should probably reconsider that policy for paying guests. The other let down was the buffet breakfast, which was pretty dismal. There was one rice dish, occasionally a curry or some rubber sausages, toast, muffins, juice, and thats it. I love buffet breakfast on holidays, and was extremely disappointed by the lack of something half decent here.

Poorly kept
Location is good, if you like it quiet and secluded. Perfectly located right on beach, but beach was extremely dirty with garbage everywhere. It was so dirty, it even had dead rotting animals on the beach. The waves looked great for surfing though. The rooms were simple and looked nice in pictures. If kept well, it would be great for the money. Unfortunately, it was very dirty. Blood stains on bed. Finger prints everywhere on walls and door. Dead bugs on walls and pictures. Once white towels were all different shades of grey with added stains. Staff was very friendly. Food was all priced fairly and great tasting. Breakfast buffet was excellent and different everyday. The free wi-fi on Wednesdays was a great bonus, but it didn't work 1/2 the time. My experience was ok, but I definitely wouldn't stay here again, because of the cleanliness issue. There were other places I stayed that was much nicer and even lower priced.

A relaxing break
I have visited Bali more than 30 times, and this is the 2nd time we have stayed at Legong Keraton. It is ideal for couples wanting a relaxing break and to just chill out. The pool / shady lawn area overlooking the surf with a book is a great way to pass the day. If you are happy doing just this, along with a beach walk that can lead you to a local little beach bar right on the sand, then this is the place for you. Also, there is some pretty good surf out the front. If you are after shopping, loud bars and night life, then forget it. Stay in Kuta/Legian/Seminyak. Also, families with children will find it hard to keep them amused all day at this location. There are a few nice little restaurants within walking distance, while there is a shuttle bus 2 times per day into Legian.There are no shopping opporunities within walking distance. The hotel is of a good standard, rooms clean and spacious. Staff are very friendly. I'm sure we will be back for a 3rd visit when we need a relaxing break next. Phil, Singapore

Great hotel, right on the beach. Hotel staff...
Great hotel, right on the beach. Hotel staff very kind and hard workers. Gardens immaculate. Pool clean and 1.7m deep. Offer beach towels. Hotel resturant menu great! Alcohol more expensive then Australia, but similar prices to the streets. Room overall was good but need to scrub grout in between tiles, a little dirty. Rooms cleaned daily. Breakfast daily - they need more options, we were over the breakfast after 1 week and went else where. Taxi to Kuta one way costs 70,000 RP / $8.75 AUD. Walking to Kuta take approx 1.45 hours along beach and half hour by car. Pool bar not in operation, would be nice to have had music in the background. Hotel constructions happening next door, the workers are there from 7am-9pm - bit noisy. DVD player for Hire 35,000RP per night. Over all very happy!

Would stay there again. Loved being right...
Would stay there again. Loved being right on the beach fora great price. Hotel was in great location for surfing, but a bit far from Kuta and Seminyak unless you have a scooter or car. Right on the ocean. Food was ok. Room was clean except blinds on doors, also very bright in the morning. Staff was helpful & very friendly, but more english at front desk would be helpful. Restaurant girls knew more english. More towels needed at the pool for guests.

Really cool place. Completely secluded (middle of nowhere). Empty beach. Really comfortable, clean, great service. For surfers, pretty good beach break and not at all crowded. Ideal for couples and relax.

It is a very pleasant hotel with...
It is a very pleasant hotel with only one small restaurant nearby. When you want to go shopping you use the free shuttlebus from the hotel. Swimming en sunning in the garden, order a drink or a good meal gives you the feeling of a prince and princes. We'll be back!!!

Hotel good for rest and relax only...
Hotel good for rest and relax only as just beside the beach.Good for surfers. Room size is big with basic facilities. Bathroom is big however could be better with some upgrading. Distance to Kuta is a bit far with 20mins drive using blue bird and cost around 60,000Rps. Recommend for those who want some quiet moments.

This hotel location really far away from...
This hotel location really far away from the town… the road condition not good very narrows here…no road light and feeling scary… and you will waste a lot of time for the journey… Hotel room feeling big because it is so empty and you would NOT feel warm in the room. And you will very disappoint for the breakfast… nothing much choices and got flies around the foods. Anyway, I & my friends will definitely NOT book again for this hotel.
