This hotel is long & narrow bungalows with a lovely pool overlooking the sea & the most divine restaurant that compensates for small rooms! I just adore the friendly staff, but the chef is my real hero! the indonesian food is so tasty & highest quality of all their foods, they use no MSG, chemicals or preservatives & everything is local or organic. grass fed animals, all very carefully chosen.
Sheer Bliss
This is a small hotel and I can't believe it is only 3*. The place is peaceful and relaxing. The staff were outstanding, always helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was very clean. Our flight was cancelled and they helpede with extra accommodation annd other changes. The running water and gardens were superb. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the prices were no more expensive than outside. Beautiful view. Defintely will be going back.

The little resort has very sincere and personal service staffs. Felt right at home and at ease.
The little resort of 12 villas also has top class service and they are every so willing to arrange transportation services, day tours, activities etc. upon request to avoid having to haggle and bargain with the locals. Rooms were neaten and cleaned 2 to 3 times a day.
Alam Asmara is about 1.5hrs away from Denpasar Airport and cost RP375/ US40 for a one way transport driven by a personal driver and a huge comfy SUV. It's worth the travel time if you would like to get away from all the hustle and bustle of town life but I suggest engaging the driver for the whole day to drive you to other places if you're thinking of taking a day trip to town. Though 1.5hrs from town, Candidasa being in the East of Bali also means you're closer to attractions, mountains and dive areas.

The room, as was the entire resort, was impeccably clean. The sheets, bath towels and pool towels were high quality. The "outdoor" bathroom was a real plus, added much to the ambience of our room. The shower was fantastic, adjustable hot water with good pressure. Location couldn't be better right on the water, snorkeling access literally out our front door. The resort is down a dirt road from the main road, far enough to block traffic noise but close enough to walk to dining and shops. Breakfast was very nice. We especially enjoyed the freshly made fruit juice and pot of tea, not just a cup! The resort staff was very helpful and courteous. One afternoon, the hotel provided a demonstration and tasting of a traditional Balinese dessert. A nice touch. The hotel does not have a traditional sand beach but has easy access to the ocean. We could swim and snorkel simply by walking down a few stone steps into the ocean. The water was clean and clear and although not the best snorkeling right now it will get better. Coral is growing and the sea floor is recovering from past development errors. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend Alam Asmara to family and friends.

This hotel was fantastic. Candidasa is a quiet place but there is still alot to do. The room had a balinese feel with an outside bathroom. The staff were very very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on the main stretch of Candidasa and is right on the water. You can swim in the ocean at low tide. There is a great view from the hotel pool area too. This hotel is most suited for couples. The hotel has a great trek you can do for quite cheap too with views of the ocean at Mt Agung (volcano). I will defintely be staying here again.

Our stay at the Alam Asmara was wonderful, the rooms were lovely and very private. The hotel is in a very good location very central to the main street with lots or restaurants to choose from. Definitely not suitable for children. The staff were always friendly and very attentive to your every need. Breakfast was good with a good selection to choose from. Candidasa was a lovely place will all the people we encountered we found everyone very friendly (small country town really). We had a favourite place for our afternoon drinks and light lunch it was Balissa Restaurant opposite the Lagoon, on a hot day you would get a great breeze from the ocean and the view was great. The staff were wonderful and they made our stay very special.
