This was my 4th trip to Bali but had never stayed in Kuta and therefore, never stayed previously at Flamboyan. I was pleasantly suprised. Flamboyan is a little oasis away from the fairly constant hustle and bustle of the street. Access is via a quiet laneway off Jl Kartika Plaza. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and well presented, the gardens beautifully green and well maintained and the pool was clean. I always understood Flamboyan to be a cheap option but I felt it was certainly value for money. There is no restaurant at Flamboyan so breakfast (which was included in the price) is ordered at reception and brought to the balcony of your room. If I have anything negative to say it is that sometimes my breakfast order was not delivered as I'd asked, although this was always quickly rectified once pointed out. Also, as someone who prefers milk in my coffee, there was only the powdered kind and not real milk. Flamboyan is central to Kuta and in easy walking distnce to Kuta Square, the beach and to Waterbom, which is practically next door. There is a nice little Warung in the laneway on the way in for some cheap but good food. I'd also recommend Mini Bar (down the laneway to the main street and turn left about 500m down the street). The food here was good and cheap. it was always full which is always a good sign. The music could be a little loud sometimes but a table further to the back was enough to still listen but be able to carry out a normal conversation. All in all, I had a great time and would definitely recommend Flamboyan.
