The 'resort' is in a nice smallish garden, the pool is OK. Extension building work is ongoing. The bungalow (a detached room) was big and fairly comfortable, but had neither the promised view over the (dwindling) rice paddies nor the pool. Except for the plugs in the washbasin and bath that did not work, the facilities were acceptable. The resort is a good 15 minutes' walk from downtown Ubud, partly on a narrow, winding and steep road. Service was friendly but minimal.

Stay at De Munut
We enjoyed our stay and found the staff very helpful and friendly. The setting is beautiful and convenient to town. We had a wonderful time.
Pleasant and wonderful
The location of the hotel is really at the middle of nowhere, it is a place for retreat, layback and relax. If you are looking for days full of programs and shopping, stay somewhere else. It's near to zoo, safari, monkey and elephant park though. The room is neat, clean and comfortable. The furniture, beds and toilet is new. House keeping is thorough. Breakfast is fantastic (must try jabber and banana pancake) . Staff is friendly and helpful. They are very generous in giving extra food and stuff, not requiring to charge for every single thing. But for hotel pickup better contact hotel directly as they don' t take instruction from booking agent. For those with small children, bring lots of mosquito repellent!
we love the design of the rooms and the staffs
To our surprised, the rooms are exactly like what is shown in the photos. We love the design of the rooms with open air shower room, the beds are wonderful, setting is romantic, customer service is great and their pancake is simply splendid. We stayed at 304, 305 and 306. The view from the rooms are simply calming - lush green with padi fields and landscaping.
But nothing is perfect, just make sure you do not get the hotel massage. The therapist are not good at all, is a waste of money and time. The cottages are a bit old with some termites but the cottages are renovating their cottages. I was told the renovation will be done in 8 months time. We did complaint about the dust from the termites, and the frontdesk upgraded our rooms from standard (104, 201, 202) to deluxe rooms (304, 305, 306).
All in all, we find this cottages are of great value. We will definately recommend it to other friends and family.
Very good to relax in De Munut Cottage. but it should be improve toilet for standard room. not clean.

is a very good price for nice hotel. only 10 minutes by feet to the mainstreet with a lot of interesting places and restaurants.

The quality of the accomodation is not worth more than the price we paid at 50 % discount !
The interior of the rooms is old, no amenities, too basic to our taste and what we were expecting from a " three " star hotel. However, we received large rooms with private terrace facing the swimming pool. Good breakfast. The hotel has a luxerious entrance. Private parking place for your car just in front of the entrance.
Price-quality is OK given the 50% discount.

Very good stay in cottage. Everything is perfect really except there are too many mosquitoes in the room.

The De Munut Cottages are arranged in a lush tropical garden setting with a very nice pool in the centre. The main markets of Ubud are about a 20 minute walk.
We had 2 weeks at de Munut and loved it. It's a famiily run place and the staff are wonderful! Such a beautiful setting, nice pool. The only problem was that the room was a little damp. However, we weren't there during the day as the hotel is situated just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Ubud. Breakfast comprises a good choice of menu. We can't wait to return.
