Good times in Bali
We found all the staff at Holiday Inn Baruna Resort Bali very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed, beautiful gardens surrounding all the rooms. Beds were big and comfortable. Bicycle hire for hotel guests was handy, as the hotel is about 15-20 mins walk into Kuta.

(Spanish)Buena localización, puedes ir al centro de Kuta (restaurantes, compras...) con solo quince minutos paseando. Si se trata de ir a Legian o a Seminyak ya hay que ir en taxi. La playa está totalmente comunicada con el hotel, pero ojo!! pese a la leyenda urbana las playas de bali no son como las de Malasia o como las tailandesas, no son muy bonitas, tienen la arena oscura y no fina (algunas son totalmente volcánicas) y ojito con las olas, salvo que seas surfera. En este caso concreto la playa era muy normalita, aunque larga para pasear, da la vuelta comunicando con los hoteles de la zona, aunque no es ni de lejos de las mejores de Bali.
Las instalaciones son de calidad; buena piscina, bonito bar tipo "lounge" al aire libre, y el personal tambien es un punto a favor, porque resultó muy atento, a la hora de buscarnos un medio de desplazamiento a Ubud se ocuparon hasta de hacernos la reserva, darnos información turistica etc.. y siempre atendian con una sonrisa.

We booked it because of the proximity...
We booked it because of the proximity to the airport (5 min. taxi) and the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The airport noise was minimal outside and not noticeable inside. The Discovery Mall is a 15 minute walk on the beach walk way, very convenient. Beach is okay, not great. Better use the pool.
The room was immaculate, allbeit somewhat small. Staff very friendly and helpful. Follow up on taxi reservations at odd hours, although you always get one in a minute.
Our only concerns:
Breakfast is only buffet; it would be helpful to just have a coffee shop with some croissints etc.
"Business center" is not really one. It is pitch dark, and if you have to read from a paper while you do e-mail you better bring a flash light. Also it is outdoors and very hot after a short while. For printing purposes you have to find someone to put paper in the printer and staff the place.

Located at the end of Kuta and about 20mins walk into the heart of Kuta. Facilities in the hotel is great and very new. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool area. Great coffee house with breakfast served by the pool. Beach access is possible from the hotel.

If staying at this hotel upgrade to a ocean view room.Our original Garden View room was too small and the outlook was not of a garden.Once moved to the Ocean View room,it was a different hotel.The room was bigger and our outlook was of the pool area.
Staff are as good as any hotel we have stayed at.
Although not part of the hotel,it would improve the area nearby if the rubbish could be cleaned up.
The hotel is in a good location,close to the Discovery Shopping Centre and also near to the airport,no need to worry about traffic when catching a flight.
The walk way along the beach is a bonus,if you are heading into Kuta.
Breakfast was very good,especially the coffee.
The store in the hotel is very reasonable and convenient.This much better than a stocked mini bar.
The bar and restaurant,out by the beach,is first class and a great way to end the day,having a drink watching the sun go down.
