Expecting much better
I was expecting much better quality accomodation since the price for 1 night had been discount from $75 US to $28. However it is hard to believe that anyone would spend $75.00 US on a room at the Yani.
The room would be more comfortable with better air ventilating if good functional of air-cond.
Budget Excellence
Among budget hotels, this is a very good facility. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well-kept. There was some culture shock in the bathroom arrangement but it was still clean and functional. Other reviews have reported a sewage smell coming in from outside, I don't hold it against the hotel. Being located right next to the Ngurah Rai Bypass was annoying but, again, out of the hotel's control. There's no pool but no shortage of AC/aircon. On the other hand, the complimentary breakfast buffet is a welcome relief! Free wi-fi is offered but reception in the rooms is weak at best: you have to access it in the cafe, which gives you an opportunity to meet some of the other residents, perhaps. It's a very inexpensive bedroom in a handy central location: not fancy but more than sufficient.

Living in my 'dreamy home'
A quiet room, wireless internet standard service, warm water all the days and nights, and still just beside the highway where at any time I can access any taxi for just 2-5 minutes after called.
More of those, a breakfast always served with some menus to choose: oriental/Indonesian meals, western salad and sandwich, some fruits and tea or coffee with milk, and off course you may ask your specific menu, for instance, if you are a vegetarian.

Well guys, I've read all of your reviews before even booking a room in this hotel, actually I was a bit scared of what I will stumble upon, as quite a lot of people reported a terrible smell and a cleanliness as good as those of a rubbish can...
To be honest, when I arrived, I've smelled this and thought it was from the hotel, but it is from outside, and it's totally independent from the hotel, as you can smell it from any location in the street. It's just that they were doing some work on the street (don't ask me more, I just repeat what I've been told)
But this smell isn't everyday thankfully!
About the dogs, that's true that they are quite excited by night, as the clinic is just straight on the opposite side... but I've a pretty heavy sleep so it doesn't matter for me.
Now a very bad point is the cleanliness.
Not about the room... but about the bathroom!
At first when I entered, I noticed a pee smell, and was wondering where it was coming from, as the floor was apparently dry...
But I've found out than the water of the toilet tends to flow outside... Yikes! Yep it's quite disgusting so you'll have to wash the floor after doing your thing... :D
Overall it's a good hotel for a budget traveler but the bathroom really made me uncomfortable as every time I had to use it I was kinda annoyed to wash the floor.

It's a budget hotel, so you can't really expect too much from it. If you're in Bali to go out and not to stay in the hotel, it's fine.
The room is pretty clean, the bathroom is decent. They have limited choices for breakfast. It's quite far from the beach, but if you have your own transport or rent a bike/car, it's ok.
It's located near the port, there is unpleasant smell coming from there, but it's ok when you're in the room.

Staffs are friendly and cooperative, price and location were perfect for me as there are many restaurants nearby. Although, they don't have swimming pool but as I am here for doing business, it is not necessary at all. They have to improve the menu variety for breakfast, I have given up to eat on my 3rd day staying. Cleanliness of the room as well as bed are acceptable. Once disturbing problem is the wifi connection, I have stayed 4 consecutive days and the wifi connection would probably work well less than half day (=12 hours) in total. This hotel is more suitable for business traveller rather than taking vacation. Please pay attention to the wifi connection, as it is really annoying for someone doing his biz trip here.
