Harris Riverview, AMAZE!!!!
We booked Harris riverview even though reviews had said it was in the middle of nowhere, however for us it wasnt such a big deal!! The hotel is about a 25min stroll to the main entrance of kuta beach. theres shops/mini marts on the way so we were always entertained although be careful because i semi got bumped into by a cyclist! the traffic can get quite crazy! most of the time we caught a cab which costed peanuts. the hotel is also about 5min drive from the strip of clubs in Legian which was ridiculously convenient in a cab! There is a harris hotel on kuta beach, like literally on the strip of kuta.. for some reason it wasnt on the booking sites but if location is important then go for that!
the hotel staff at riverview are absolutely amazing, always happy, super friendly and very helpful! the hotel reception smells of oranges, its walls are orange like oranges, the staff wear orange clothes and some of the females even wear orange nail varnish and they even hand u orange juice as u walk in haha! it sounds strange but it really does create a happy happy atmosphere. there were alot of families there when we were there and the kids loved it, it is very child orientated.
as we walked into the room there was a weird odour, it jus didnt smell lived in. after a while and with the help of spraying deodorant everywhere the smell was gone. the actual apartment (2 bedroom) was really nice - clean and livable with a small balcony. we had a view of the river which is kind of a dirty canal? they have 4 swimming pools and the sun tan you get lounging around them is intense. the sun gets so strong! stronger than when we were on actual beaches!
if your a group of friends or a family who just want accomodation which is cheap and clean without frills such as an amazing spa, beautiful views then this is the place for you!

great staff - very friendly and helpful. we had a 2 bed room apartment with a small lounge a cocking facility - which we did not use, due to the cheap restaurants in Kuta. the hotel is a little bit away from the beach, but considering that we never paid more then 20,000 rupiahs ( AU$ 2.00!!!) to bring us anywhere it is a small price to pay. the rooms are clean to asian standards and comfortable. ---- and please consider - should you not be happy with anything or need anything - just ask and the friendly hotel staff will do anything to please you.
Great Place
What fabulous service we received, the hotel staff were always so happy and friendly, and willing to help at any time. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious and roomy, cleaned when we requested it to be. Was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of Kuta, only a 10 minute taxi ride from Kuta Square. Shuttle Bus service was great, and security also awesome. Great pools, and good kids club, We had a very happy stay at Harris, they should be commended on their staff, always hardworking and happy, always greeted with a smile, some Aussies should take notice of how Balinese treat there service to people. Thanks again, we'll be back :)
we had a problem when we checked in at Harris Riverside Hotel. The agent named bayu gave us a room which was locates in front of road, it was noisy and not strategic located. since this was the first time we booked thru asiarooms, we thought thats becos we booked cheap then the hotel gave us a very very bad room. hotel will give the worst room to us n thought might ruin our holiday, then we refused to take the room and we went to the agent again. he offer other rooms which arent good location also, located at the side road.. we were very frustated and we ask whether we can upgrade the room to residences type, but Bayu said that we need to add up IDR 500.000,- ..after discussed with my wife, we went to talk to the agent, a nice young lady informed us that to upgrade to residence, we only need to add up IDR 150.000 (what??its 350.000 difference)...finally, we got the good room with good view, view to the pool. but check in time was very tiring...i read others review and agree that the room was not sound proof.

About a 15-20 minute taxi ride to Kuta beach and all popular markets so the location is not good if that's what you are interested in.
Personally i like to sleep in a little bit but this was not possible with the everyday construction work in and around the hotel, drilling and hammering starting at about 8am - 1030am and to also be woken up by dogs barking and roosters from the village it is placed right next to, this made my morning Vvery! frusterating.
Although the rooms were great! very clean and spacious, the noise and location was a very big let down for me and the group i travelled with. I would give this place a 4/10
Look for it
Harris hotel is a good and nice place to be at while in bali.away from the busy street of kuta you are able to escape from the busy night life when u are at the hotel.the price is affordable for a light traveller like me.appreciate the good service when i didnt bring the plug adaptor for my phone.will look forward to stay there if i intend to go bali again. Thanks Harris hotel and all the people are great.

Hotel was not as close to centre of kuta as we thought ( i was on the understandig that we had booked the harris on Kuta Beach , when booking it on the internet . The pool areas are not very tempting to go in as they appear dirty because of the color of the tiling in the pool and not enough greenery around the the pool areas . The pool at the back of the hotel that over looks the river is not a very nice outlook ? and with the decking it looks outdated ,just plane with no greenery the river needs to be blocked out as you only see all the rubish in it . With it beening a hotel/residence there is a lot of noise at night in the hallways with children running and playing in them. Staff very friendly but at the front desk there is confussion on how to do things (eg paying for our bill ) as the efpos machine would not accept my master card , so we had to go and change money into ID rupiah to pay because they couldnt work outhow to convert $AUD???? . The paving at the main front entrance is lifting causing people to trip on them . Food wasnt cheap in the hotel so we didnt eat at the hotel at all . With the price of the rooms the breakfeast i think should have been included as all other hotels that i have stayed in have included breakfast . I go to Bali at least two times a year over the last 20 years . Would i stay there again probily not as there are better hotels right in Kuta . , P/S Hotel is set up for confrences ??
Very very clean room, comfortable for budget...
Very very clean room, comfortable for budget traveller. With this price range, we did not expect the room is so new, clean... Good service, nearby Kuta town.
