Fantastic and cheap!
Legian guest house is a great place to stay when you’re on a tight budget. We loved it so much that we will be going back before the end of the year. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are 24 hr security guards. It is a bit tricky to find and the road leading to it is very rough, however the guest house has applied with the government to get repairs done and they should be occurring in the next year.
there are only 14 rooms, so it is very cosy and intimate. We stayed in room 201 and it is one of the biggest rooms at the lower rate. Room 201 and 202 have a sitting area in the room which gives you a lot more space for the same price as the smaller rooms. If you can, request 201 or 202. The room was very clean with beautiful tiled floors and a very comfy queen size bed. The only bad thing about the room was the moth ball smell in the bathroom, which we think was to keep bugs out and possibly to reduce any drain smell. You could easily minimise the smell by closing the bathroom door. We didn't find the smell offensive at all and this was the only negative for us.
unfortunately if you have kids this is not the place for you. Kids under 12 aren't allowed. This does however make it quite pleasant for those without kids as there is no noise or splashing in the pool and no temper tantrums at night.
breakfast each morning was nice. There are 3 choices, western, fried rice or fried noodles. Each is served with watermelon, coffee/tea and a juice. The servings are small but filling. We tried each breakfast and liked the fried rice the best. We only ate dinner at the guest house once and it was just average, but extremely cheap. All the food was very, very cheap.
it is a little way out of town, but cost around aud3 to get to legian or kuta in a taxi, and the staff are always happy to call one for you.
at aud35 a night, you can not go wrong staying at legian guest house. We loved it an will be back many more times.
