Can't really find fault at all with the place.
Didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment on the food
We stayed in 4 places on this holiday and I think this place was the one that ticked all the boxes

Good value for money, The jayakarta hotel facility's were great, big clean swimming pools, lovely gardens, breakfast was great (not included in Club Bali booking) Good location in Legion for shopping and the beach.
The pull out sofa bed was uneven but did the job, we were traveling with a 4 & 5 year old and would stay there again.

Average.
I would generally say that you get what you pay for but in this instance i really don't think that it was value for money. I have been travelling to Bali for the past 25 years, this was approximately my 20th visit and probbaly the 10th time i have stayed at Jayakarta. In the past 15 years that i have been staying at this hotel i seriously dont think there has been any form of upgrading to the hotel or the rooms at all. They are very dated, very small (1 bedroom apartment) and the decor is pretty sub standard and far below average for a Balinese hotel.
Check in is late - 3pm, upon arrival we expected a baby cot in our room, a fold out sofa and a king bed. We were a little suprised to find no cot (additional $10 USD per night - this wasnt advertised) the sofa bed that is supposed to sleep 2 adults was really only good for our 3 year old, and it was horribly uncomfortable. The hot water was attroocious, the air con constantly leaked, there were cigarette butts under the vanity in the bathroom (from previous guests i assume), the balcomy cannt even fit 2 chairs, there are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms nor in the building, everyday we had to ask for 4 towels rather than the 2 they gave us, there were no blankets on the bed- just one single sheet, the television reception was terrible and the light fittings in the bathroom leaked down into the bath. We actually complained about the first room we were given because no hot water at all- literally you would turn on the tap and no water came out. We were then moved into another room, which had hot water but still no better than the first room.
The saving grace for Jayakarta has always been location- its amazing and great for families and great for children. Having said that the location is no longer a good enough reason to stay there. For the same money you can get a far nicer room elsewhere.
Disappointing.

having to go for breakfast to a different restaurant was like going from a 4star hotel to 1 star restaurant, the food was very ordanary and mostly cold,
also staying in the suits, gave us the feeling as not belonging to the Yayacarta Hotel, as we where often asked ..where are we staying ?
no, i will not stay there again, and i am very dissapointed with asia rooms not to inform me
beforehand about this condition.

Enjoyable hotel
we have just spent a week at the jayakarta suites which was a very pleasant stay in this hotel the suites are good with everthing you would need in a little functioning kitchenette.the room wasn't a bad size for the 4 of us the sofa bed as i had read on here all ready was very hard and only really suitable for kids balcony also was very small and doesn't really overlook anything interesting but the carpark as the suites are at the front of the hotel.Hotel complex really nice and well looked after 3 pools but as usual hard to get a chair as the usual people put on there towles and take off for the day only to be seen later on in the afternoon.Good little kids playground.Beachside of hotel also nice with lots of nice little restaurants our favourite being moazzarella but good idea to book a table if going. Also nice sunset. This was our first time to the legian area and for us we just didn't really like legian as a whole. Our stay was enjoyable at the hotel but we just wouldn't go back to legian.

Don't stay at club bali
As an experienced traveller in Asia regions I found Club Bali to be a deterrent to travel to Bali. In brief: Charged for reverse charge call Inflexibility in provision of service by reception staff Noisy room with airconditioner (had to wear ear plugs) Service delivery was continuously poor Additional services (computer, power adaptors, DVDs) were not available. I stayed in 6 or 7 hotels in two weeks ranging from $36 to $120. Club Bali was the most expensive and the most undesirable.

its the little things
we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite (not by choice no 2 bedrooms available) and although it was ok the fold out sofa bed left not much room, there was no DVD player that had to be hired for 50,000 rp a day, there was a horrible gas smell under the sick everytime you opened the cupboard. We didnt get any flannels to wash the kids with or soap! and only 2 towels for the bathroom were supplied for the 4 of us and even then i had to ask for those 2 towels housekeeping kept taking them every day but not leaving frresh ones. The staff on reception were lovely and the location is great so if you can forget about the little things then its the place to go. on a positive note the kitchen is well eqipped with everything you could need.
