'Memorable' stay but 'hanging in there'
My family and I travelled to Bandung from Jakarta by car and to my pleasant surprise, my maid back home in Kuala Lumpur called me to say that staff from Orange Home called to inform that they waited for us at the airport - but I don't remember asking them to wait us at the airport :^O
Anyway, the road conditions to the hotel was very-very bad as it was in the middle of repair work! What more, it was raining too..Infact, most of the surrounding roads were also as bad...re-surfacing work would have probably years back! We were told that roads were privately -financed - by homeowners, not the government or municipalities. There are lots of big expensive houses in the area but with very bad road conditions! So be careful while driving!
We checked in, staff were polite and helpful. No complaint, this is typical Asian hospitality, we feel at home - as we are Asians ourselves too. We checked in - the kids are happy with the room, one king bed + 3 single beds - that fits all 6 of us and clean towels, comfortable linen. Overall, it was good. Only one setback, as our room was on the ground floor, near the Koi fish pond and there were chairs and dining table where hotel guests chatted thru the night and that was a major petpeeve for me! I just wished that the door was sound-proof so that I didn't have to 'join' their every detail of conversation. Heaven helps me..I just had to 'hang in there' as I cannot expect everything to be perfect - to my pleasure. Anyway, as we stayed there during the Xmas eve and Xmas itself, the Bandung traffic was utterly horrible..which they called 'machet'....people were doing their shopping and what not..and I guess I won't be back to Bandung during Xmas..bad decision!
My stay at Orange Home was satisfying - I give it a B+.

Makes the whole trip most worthwhile
Best service ever.. Pick up from airport. Personal attention and very friendly. Surprised hotel is kept so shiny clean. Very happy with the genuine personal warmth and service from their receptionists, tour guide. Very helpful. Feel like being with friends. Location is easy and convenient. Will be most happy to recommend to friends and myself definitely will make this hotel, my favourite choice. Keep up the good work. Makes the stay in Bandung pleasantly more memorable. Thank you!

Great budgeted hostel for travelers in budget
Pluses: pretty cheap, A/C, hot water, have rooms for family (up to 6 people).
Minuses: our room had many big ants. The TV is too small and it seemed it's operated centrally (the TV in our room was automatically off after 11 pm, and at 7am we could not turn it on again).

Orange House
It would have been helpful if their website clearly stated that their guesthouse was especially tailored to Muslims and Islamic values. Although traveling alone, I discovered that my double bed could not be shared with another female outside of " marriage"; how they decided on the state of relationship between heterosexual pairs outside of Islamic jurisdiction is outside my competence - and I dare say theirs as well. Homosexual, here meaning same sex pairs sharing a bed I suppose is permissible, unless banned altogether. Here again the ambiguity needs to be cleared up on their website. I had requested vegetarian breakfast due to Lenten observance but was granted this request only on the first morning. I found the blare from the minaret of the nearby mosque on the first day to be nerve wracking. The toilet does not have a sink. Apart from these comments , the place was clean and services good in general relative to Indonesian values and decorum.

Wet Closet
The overall stay was great. The only comment was with the wet closet. The toilet was too narrow with the wall and may not comfortably fit a big size person.

My Homestay At Orange Home Hotel
Frankly, my stay in Orange Home Hotel is superb - Except for the Food ;) Hospitality can be graded as 1st class although the hotel was review as 2 * I can proudly say that we were treated like a vvip guest, we have our own chauffeur to fetch us from the train station & to the hotel itself, everything we need was attended in immediate action without leaving us waiting. It's a marvelous hotel if you guys need a room to stay for the night, very cosy & it truly an unforgettable Bandung journey for us. Last words We will give a grade 5 For Hospitality, convenience & warm respects from all the staff there.
