'Memorable' stay but 'hanging in there'
My family and I travelled to Bandung from Jakarta by car and to my pleasant surprise, my maid back home in Kuala Lumpur called me to say that staff from Orange Home called to inform that they waited for us at the airport - but I don't remember asking them to wait us at the airport :^O
Anyway, the road conditions to the hotel was very-very bad as it was in the middle of repair work! What more, it was raining too..Infact, most of the surrounding roads were also as bad...re-surfacing work would have probably years back! We were told that roads were privately -financed - by homeowners, not the government or municipalities. There are lots of big expensive houses in the area but with very bad road conditions! So be careful while driving!
We checked in, staff were polite and helpful. No complaint, this is typical Asian hospitality, we feel at home - as we are Asians ourselves too. We checked in - the kids are happy with the room, one king bed + 3 single beds - that fits all 6 of us and clean towels, comfortable linen. Overall, it was good. Only one setback, as our room was on the ground floor, near the Koi fish pond and there were chairs and dining table where hotel guests chatted thru the night and that was a major petpeeve for me! I just wished that the door was sound-proof so that I didn't have to 'join' their every detail of conversation. Heaven helps me..I just had to 'hang in there' as I cannot expect everything to be perfect - to my pleasure. Anyway, as we stayed there during the Xmas eve and Xmas itself, the Bandung traffic was utterly horrible..which they called 'machet'....people were doing their shopping and what not..and I guess I won't be back to Bandung during Xmas..bad decision!
My stay at Orange Home was satisfying - I give it a B+.
